Queshtion 1:
I was wondering how you get words to pop out of the picture without white showing. Like this one:
Is it a certain program you use, or a trick? Please help!

Queshtion 2:
How do you outline you're words in black? Like this one:
Avatar: Moki Hunter
See how Moki Hunter outlined it in black? Is it a certain text you use, is it a certain program you use, or is there a trick? Please help!

For the first one, your canvas size has to bigger than the avatar is and the background has to be transparent. Then you just put text over the top, so it appears like it is going out of the avatar (Sorry if that seems a bit vauge, but I explained it as best as I could).
And for the second one, thats putting stroke on your text. You can do it with images too. (In photoshop) Go to Layer > Layer style > Stroke and adjust your settings.

Aiyana-Kopa - One question. The canvas size is 100%. Which number
should I put it too? Or is it fine where it is? |

Rainbowkat: I MAY have 7, I honestly can't remember, and it works.
Unless I'm thinking of the wrong version... |

Blazetail- It might be the version of elements you are using. I know
layer styles works on Elements 8, 9 and 10. But I'm not sure about
anything earlier. |
