Hi,

For my biology class I have to do a project about the animals in the Lion King move. My problem is that we have to find out  all of the animal species. We can not just list 'birds' but rather each species of each bird. I am reallllyyyyyy hoping you can help me out with this, I am having no luck at all :(

Well, the lions are probably of the African variety. Shenzi, Bonzai and Ed are spotted hyenas, so I'd assume the rest are too. Zazu is a Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill. Timon and Pumba = meerkat and warthog. The wildebeest stampeded at one point. In the beginning we see cheetahs (they're probably normal cheetahs, they don't really look like King Cheetahs), zebras, fire ants, elephants, a lot of birds (sorry, can't really help you there, though I remember a crane), giraffes, antelope (I think; gazelle? They mention antelope...) and more wildebeest. Rafiki is a mandrill-baboon hybrid. Depending on the version you watch, there's a song with a groundhog. During another song, we see a rhino and a (or was it more?) hippopotamus, some crocodiles with (blue?) birds in their mouths, blue monkeys (no idea there), some ostriches, apparently a gorilla and jaguar/leopard ( www.animationsource.org/sites_ [...] _king/img_screenshot/16838.jpg) and flamingos. There are a bunch of different "grubs"; beetles, caterpillars, ect. That's all I can remember... hope this helps? :3 Good luck!
