No, it's not about the song. It's about the saying. In the beginning of the movie, Simba tells Kiara that "We are one". Yet he hates the outsiders! If we are one, why can't he forgive them and accept them. It's no point teaching something you don't believe.

I agree that Sim a should have seen the outsiders are the same as his pride especially the cubs that had to grow up in that kind of environment but they are outsiders because they supported Scar and I don't blame Simba for being mad Scar threw Mufasa off a cliff! Simba is still learning in the second movie so give him a break guys! |

Simba's being hypocritical, everyone does that. He's got a lot of
unresolved issues from the first movie, which screws up his ability to
see things rationally. If people (and humanized lions) could go, "oh,
I'm not thinking straight because I'm scarred from my childhood. I
figured that out, awesome! I won't be like that anymore" and get on
with his life, the world would be a much better place. People are
blind to their own issues. Most likely he doesn't mentally extend "we
are one" to include the outlanders, until he gets some sense knocked
into him. |
Simba is being hypocritical, but as the movie goes on, he gets more and more hypocritical, until the end. BUt you gotta admit it is a good song!
