Well maybe Vitani and her family lived in The Pride Lands before they were exiled because Zira killed Kopa and that Kopa and Vitani became friends and that they later had feelings for eachother.But then Zira killed Kopa.

Well I'm not really sure but Kopa appeared in the six new adventures: http://lionking.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lion_King:_Six_New_Adventures and I think people just made the rumor up. It's your choice if you want to believe it. People then made fan pictures of Kopa and Vitani and it became a rumor that lots of people believed.

TLKGIRL98 -- Never. Everyone has their own beliefs. Respect those who do not agree with you. Stop making it such a big deal and let people believe what they want.

If TLK 2 had been made with the original production plans: Giving Simba and Nala two cubs, a boy, Chaka, and a girl, Shani, it would have been a thousand times better.

Fans made it up as one story, because many believe(including me) that cub at the end of TLK is not Kiara. Since there are may differences between cub appearance in TLK and TLK 2 as well as many difference in ceremony. So fans made it up as part of the what happened to Kopa thing. Since some read books before watching TLK2.
