A bit too early, yes, but it's almost christmas already! I must say this year has passed very quickly.
Recently, I've been making some updates on the site - although, most of them concern moderation, so I don't think it's necessary to list them here.
But the major update you've probably already seen, is the new petition.
I won't repeat myself too much, but the reasons for a new petition are simple : nothing has been done for Balto since the previous petition; trying another petition won't cost anything; and it is a bit different from the previous one.

Read more! 1 comment- I've taken some time, and corrected many bugs with the fanfics system (send system and admin). And everyone can now delete their own fanfics.
- There's a new fanfic mod : HydraPhalanx.
- Take a look at the fan images section. (which used to be the desktops section) You'll see that there are now pictures to enter galleries, just like on the fanarts. These pictures are generated automatically, with a script and I think it looks pretty fine, don't you think?

Read more! 4 comments- According to the results of the poll and debate on the forums, I've decided to put a limit to what types of fanfics are allowed to send on the site.
For more information, check the rules :
- There have been changes in the mods on the site : Danman and Swords of the wolves are replacing Mario, Writewolf and Whitewolf UK. BaltoSeppala is now fanfic mod, and Togo is a new article mod. Finally, Silver Deni is moderator for the specific "Fan more" (videos) section on the forums.

Read more! 2 commentsI said some time ago I would remake the wallpapers section, and it's now done! It now works in the same way as the fanarts.
The old desktops that were sent were moved into it, but now you can also send different kind of images (signatures, avatars, collages of screenshots...).
You can also post comments, and add galleries in your favorites.
Unlike the fanarts, every picture sent on this section will be allowed to be saved on your computer by right clicking. (which is logical when dealing with desktops and such)
The pictures which won't be accepted though, are the pictures not related with [...] Read more!

4 commentsFirst, I've changed the way the smileys (and the comments in general), they are now managed differently to speed up the comments display.
Also, something pretty useful : You can now jump lines when you post comments on the site! Just press enter to make paragraphs, as you would on the forums.
I've noticed that the articles pages had become really long to load, so I've cut them into several pages. And the same with the questions.
Finally, by making some improvements, I've managed to get the favorites working for the music videos too. You can now add music video makers in your favorites!

2 commentsYesturday I've worked on re-making the comments system. You probably won't really notice the difference, but this way it will become much easier to manage it. You can see it though because now, the form for posting comments is separated from the rest.
There's a "whole new" section on the site, that I wanted to make since a long time : the "Questions and answers" section! Now, anyone can ask a question there and anyone can answer it. Among the answers, one will be chosen to be the "Best answer" displayed beside the question itself. Also, you can make a search in the questions to make sure it [...] Read more!
5 commentsFirst of all, I've finally been able to correct the "banned" problem on the forums. Some of you wouldn't be able to access the forums because it would say that they were banned, which was not the case. It would happen when you wouldn't have any email addresses written in your profile.
A bit related to this, I've added something so that forum mods will be able to ban people (temporarily or indefinitely), and shout boxes mods too.
I've noticed something : people often want to post links on the
comments, however when they do it, the link is automatically broken

7 commentsI've finally got some time this week end to make some modifications to the site, some things that were planned since a loooooong time but which I couldn't do because I hadn't time.
Here is the list :
- I've finally deleted the inactive accounts on the site and the forums, to make some space, as I said in a previous news. If yours was deleted, this means that you didn't really use your account so you only have to register again.
- There's a anti-robots script on the site, so it should reduce the site bandwith a little and avoid spamming robots.

First, there's one more moderator on the shout boxes : Snowpaws. It should be the last one, except if I find someone to fill the "gaps" when there is often no mod on the shout boxes.
New mods on the forums too : DrewTheWolf, Mario, Writewolf, Whitewolf(uk), and Black Shimmer.
This should help getting the forums easier to live. (I hope). Please give their chances to the new mods.
Also, I have added something so that banned people won't be able to send private messages anymore. This should help to prevent some people to send harmful messages, such as [...] Read more!
4 commentsI've "hired" four new mods on the shout boxes : Danman, Kari, Suka and Rockyjet, which makes a total of 8 moderators on the shout boxes for now. I hope this will help.
Also, I would like to say that I will probably delete a lot of accounts that aren't used, both on the forums and the site. (no messages posted, no fanarts, no fanfics, etc)

Post a commentAccording to the recent problems (see the previous news), I've made a few changes.
First, I now display a list of the mods at the top of the forums, and at the bottom of the shout boxes; so that everyone can know who is mod on the site.
Also, this list includes a link so that you can directly contact by private message a moderator (chosen by random) and explain your problem - whatever it can be.
The second thing is the new "report to a moderator" button displayed near every message posted on the forums. Whenever there is an unacceptable message written on the forums, you can directly report it [...] Read more!
Post a commentThere is a new mod who is in charge of answering your requests of changing your fanart entrance galleries. Dreaming Wolf couldn't do it anymore, so if you requested a change lately, you will have to request a change again. (Requests can be done in the fanart send page -> "Manage my gallery")

Post a commentAs you've probably already noticed, I've put the "what's new?" display into a separate section, so that the last news will not disappear in one day.
Also, there will only be a summary displayed on the main page, to get the detail you only have to click on the link at the bottom. This was to reduce the size and loading time of the main page.
Finally, I would like to say that I have currently some problems, so I won't be able to update the site or answer your questions before at least one week.

The pictures are little of course, so you can put your mouse over them to see bigger versions, which (I think) should be pretty practical. Try it!

Post a commentDue to the requests of many people, and in order to limit the number of spamming, robots, hackers... and other problems on the shout boxes, I've decided that only registered members can now post on the shout boxes.

I've made a little change in the registering process on the site, so that it will automatically send you an email with your password when you register (if you entered a valid email address)

Now, only one news will be displayed in the front page at a time. Why?
Because now, I display all the new things that were added on the site during the day! For now, it includes the articles, the fanfics, the music videos, and the forum topics. If you want a good example, just look below :)
The fanarts will follow, but before it can works I need to make some changes to the fanart system first.
Also, I'll try to use this later so that there will be automatically one news by day on the site, even when I'm not here!

I also wanted to say that I will soon delete the older private messages, in order to free some space in the database. All the PMs that are older than three months will be deleted, so you might want to make a copy before.
Also I'll try to add an option on the private messages interface on the site to let you delete the messages you want.
