-Mufasa sends hyenas to kill his son because he thinks he is an unworthy heir. -Simba gets away by jumping off the cliff and ends up in the desert. -He wanders for days before collapsing, the vultures following his every step. -Meanwhile Mufasa breaks the news to the pride, the hyenas tell him that Simba got away and he is displeased. -Scar comes to the rescue and bats away the vultures. -He tells Simba about Mufasa's lies of loving him and promises to take care of him. -Holding Simba reminds him of Kovu, his son. -Flashback time! -Scar and his son were relaxing when Scar hears a sound. Telling his son to be quiet he sneaks off and attacks a lioness that was waiting there. -Mufasa comes out of the grass with his band of hyenas to kill Kovu. -Scar lets the lioness up when he notices birds settling where Kovu is, she suddenly yells Mufasa and Scar realizes what happened and speeds away. -Scar gets there too late and Mufasa slaps him aside, giving him his scar. His son is struggling on the ground from fatal wounds.
