The Aim of the Game:

To create the most interesting Lion King character design based on another animal
and give it an interesting relation to the Lion King Universe (See ****Extra Challenge**** below).
 

Dos and Don'ts and Other Info

Preferably do not use inspiration from another feline species - there wouldn't be that much difference or originality. The more different the species the better - I find birds and bugs the most fun and interesting.

Do be creative - be clever with how you use features and markings.
You don't have to copy the species' build features and colours exactly - rather, adapt them to suit a lion of the Lion King universe. It can be unrealistic, but not too unsual - for example, instead of giving them butterfly antennae, create a hairstyle that looks like butterfly antennae.

If there are any colours on the species that would be considered 'Sparkle' for a lion (such as bright and neon purples, greens, blues, etc), rather than use them as they are, mute them down to be more natural-looking pelt colours. Some colours could just be slightly based on the species (E.g flamingo colours made to look more peach-coloured).

Do create lion designs only - no cheetahs, leopards, other felines including weird hybrids, please.

• **** EXTRA CHALLENGE - PLEASE READ! ****
  Although the character design you create is simply that - that is,  you do not have to create a page or bio - he/she must have a name and MUST have an interesting relation to the Lion King Universe. Just a one- or two-line explanation as to how and who they are connected to - but you must not go for the easy options, such as an official character's mate/cub/crush/bestie.

Type 'Savannah' in your entry comment or put it on your entry picture, to show you've read these rules!

Winners!

The 1st Place will get an animated picture / animated scene of one of their characters.
2nd Place will get a drawing of one of their characters

(I myself will choose each of the winners' characters to animate/draw as a surprise prize :) )

Deadline: 21st September.
Bear in mind this is a very short-running contest, so consider not taking too long on your design entries
(they can just be roughly done if needed).

Might as well send my 2nd entry in while I'm at it A lion who looks like a . . . sloth. Yep. I actually really like how these designs turn out (I put two versions, one has more hair. Hope that is okay ) Name: Mato Relation to TLK Universe: Mato was sent to work for Nuka as his "servant", but turned out to actually be more of a "buddy" or just someone for Nuka to talk to. He isn't seen much by the most of the outlanders, because he sleeps throughout the majority of the day as well as the night. Mato is so lazy he doesn't seem to even care what's going on around him, so when the Pride Landers and Outlanders united, Mato woke up (literally) to quite a surprise. Savannah! This is an awesome idea for a contest, Windhowler! It will definitely help bring more interesting design ideas to the site! I am not really gonna do this for the prize (though it would be awesome), because you already make loads of epic animations of my characters anyway haha. But more because it's a very interesting contest! Here is my first A lioness that looks like a lemur! I went for a lioness because I thought it would fit the shape of a lemur better and I gave her slightly buldgey eyes, as lemurs have quite rounded ones. Name: Zhamata Relation to TLK Universe: Zhamata is Growler's biggest predator. She is constantly, CONSTANTLY tracking and trying to hunt the small crafty warthog, only to fail time and time again.
