Story: Kaleb was born with an older brother and younger sistern the Isu Keeney pride. He and his siblings were born some time after the pride's worst enemy, Lagiza the Weaver was defeated, and their father was one of the heroes who actually fought and defeated the Weaver, in which Kaleb, just like his brother took great pride. Since he was the middle child, Kaleb always felt the need to compete for his parent's attention, which lead him getting himself into all kinds of mischief just to get attention, and he was extremely good at getting into trouble. From all three cubs, Kaleb was actually the most like Roscoe when he was in their age. His big brother Ryder tried his best to look after him and keep him out of trouble, however at times Kaleb found his "shadowing" rather annoying. One day, the cubs were exploring and ended up beyond the pride's borders, Ryder tried to get them to turn back but Kaleb wanted to go investigate the crocodile pond, in which Makuu and his flock lived. This was clearly a mistake, because that's when Makuu lunged from the water and chased the cubs. They managed to avoid getting eaten just barely, and ran until they realized they were totally lost. The trio then came across an older lioness, who turned out to be queen Kiara of the Pridelands. After hearing they were Roscoe's cubs, Kiara told them she was an old family friend, and agreed to walk them back home safely. Upon arriving home, their not so pleased father was waiting for them, and scolded them for going outside the pride's territory. Kaleb apologized and said it was all his idea, and of course Roscoe couldn't stay mad for too long. When he and his siblings were in their late teens, Kaleb was bit by a venomous spider and fell critically ill, no one in the pride really knew how to help him and even the pride's healer was totally helpless. When his condition was getting weaker and weaker, his sister Allie and their friend Luca set out to the Tree of Life to seek help from it's elderly healer Nirmala, and returned just in time with a medicine that saved Kaleb's life. As Kaleb was recovering, he was told not to leave the den, but as time passed, he got tired of lying around and decided to sneak away to do some hunting. But of course, that didn't go so well. He chased after a small gaselle, but since he was still weak, he tripped and fell to the ground, when a brown, patched lioness came to his aid. He insisted that he didn't need any help, but the lioness wouldn't listen, and helped him up, introducing herself as Korie. After talking for a while, it turned out that she knew Stella, a special friend of Kaleb's youngest brother Kody, so they started spending more time together, and Kaleb soon found himself enjoying the lionesse's company a lot.

Relation to TLK: He and his siblings were chased by Makuu, and met Kiara after accidentally venturing into the Pridelands.
