Story: Jaali was born as a surprise to his parents, about 6 months or so after his older brother and sister and a year after his step sister Johari. He was born very small and weak, and at first it looked like he wouldn't make it, but with the help and treatement of Rafiki, he managed to pull through. He grew into a strong and playful cub who loved play wrestling with his father and brother and bothering his adult sister Johari and following her everywhere. One day Jaali was particularly bored when the rest of his family was napping and he couldn't get anyone to play with him, so he decided to wonder off on his own and find some company. He started climbing trees, which was his favorite thing to do, when suddenly a voice called: "Excuse me, uh, lion cub? That's my tree." Jaali looked down, and saw a leopard sitting under the tree, he apologized and climbed down, and learned that the leopard's name was Badili. Badili seemed quite friendly, and since Jaali had never met a leopard before, he became quite interested in him and started visiting him almost on a daily basis. Badili was a bit frustrated about it at first, but eventually he started to like the cub's company and the two became friends. Jaali introduced Badili to his parents, who also befriended the friendly leopard quite fast, and even assigned him to babysit the cub whenever themselves or Jaali's older siblings couldn't.

Relation to TLK: Friends with Badili, and his mother is Zira's adopted daughter.
