Personality- Lapin is quite the stoic lion who finds it hard to express himself. Most of the time he expresses very little emotion unless he trusts someone enough. But due to being bullied in the past by both his brothers and other lions this is very rare. As a result he tends to distance himself from most lions and instead observes them from a distance away. From a young age he hated getting attention as well as being given a role of power. Like this he doesn't like being high expectations or being forced to be something he knows he isn't But in a positive light he is a caring guy who just wants the best for those around him. He enjoys to hang around his half brother El and listen to whatever idiotic plans he comes up with. Lapin also likes to collect flowers and other items that he deems to be 'beautiful'.
Mate- Kelele
Love interest / crush- Kelele
Cubs- None
Siblings- Kahn, Elewisa and Gainell (Step brothers)
History- From a young age Lapin was obviously different. He was smaller than the other lions and as far as he knew his father didn't want him. So he grew up with his mother without even bothering to think about his father. To him he was no more than a lion who abandoned him and his dear sweet mum. Still Lapin was a fairly happy cub mainly due to his closest friend Kelele. As they were raised along side each other they grew extremely close. As this bond continued to become stronger he knew he had feelings for the large lion. But due to how the lions around him viewed same sex relationships he pushed it aside for the next few years.
Everything then fell apart when his mother passed away and his father just happened to appear. Stubbornly Lapin refused to go with Kovu but he had no choice as his father took him away. Upset by this he bid Kelele goodbye and for the next few weeks he fell in on himself. During this time he met his brothers, though he despised Khan and Gainell, he got along rather well with Elewisa. To him he was his only brother because he didn't mock him for his appearance. So he remained by his side witnessing the rivalry between his older brothers. To Lapin it all just seemed pointless and nothing but destructive.
So once Kelele arrived, Lapin set himself only around him and El. Often he would comment on how being king seemed to be a waste of time. It was nothing but a role for the power hungry as shown by his siblings. Due to this his patience was worn thing when the two continued to bicker constantly. So after being influenced by Kelele he stepped in on one faithful day.... Within seconds he was caught in the middle of a physical fight that left him covered in scars. He retreated further in to himself then and became nothing more than an observer, he was absolutely determined to not get involved after that. Lapin didn't even want to utter the word 'king' or the question on everyone's mind.
As a result when everyone seemed to choose sides he didn't get involved. He simply when about his usual business and went on small trips with El as well as Kelele. On one of these he happened to admit his feelings to Kel under the night sky lit by the stars. This was the one point where he felt happy. He was complete. To Lapin nothing could go wrong now that the lion he adored so much accepted him as his mate. But then came the question of being king again...
Lapin, from afar, witnessed Gainell's fall in to madness and he felt completely bemused. Until he began to crumble under the pressure like their father he felt pity for him. So after arranging a plan to have Gainell step down he returned. After knocking some sense in to Gainell he siggested that he'd step down as king. Without a fight Gainell stepped down and allowed Lapin to taken on the role even if he wasn't totally pleased.
Upon being given this role he made Kelele his consort and lived quite happily. Though he is rather annoyed by the fact that no one believes he is the king because he's short compared to his mate.
Special features- He's rather small for a male lion and cannot grow a full mane.
Relation to TLK- Kovu's son, Zira's grandson, formally lived in the Outlands.
