Personality: Whole, stubborn, and willful, Benedorm is a fighter who can raise mountains with his determination. He enjoys explosive, incredible or unexpected situations, because they arise a thousand emotions inside. Not being afraid of nothing. Attracting risk or adrenaline brings full control. A whirlwind is a perfect way to describe this lion.
Relations: Mae and Laurofin (older brothers), two other unnamed older brothers, and two younger brothers ; Shadowmane (distant relation)
Basic Information: Born the fifth son to two busy parents, Benedorm recalls mostly his oldest brother Mae looking out for him and raising him. Due to having so many siblings, Benedorm resorted to acting out in his younger months to try and gain attention. When that didn’t seem to be working, he left the secluded den of his parents and disappeared far into the Guild’s territory. During this time, Benedorm ran into the manes. Most did not bother overmuch with him, but Benedorm was taken with both Skymane (as she was a loving and wise and present figure) as well as Shadowmane, for he knew that they were related despite the fact that Benedorm himself looked nothing like Shadowmane. Benedorm stuck around with the manes for several months, and didn’t bother to show his face at home until Skymane convinced him otherwise. Whilst he was with the manes, Benedorm picked up quite a few skills.
At his return home, Benedorm started to become very close to his older brother Laurofin. The two trained together and were often inseparable, until it came time for Laurofin to become a defender. Benedorm did not then see his brother again until he himself had become a defender and was assigned to check on the pride lands. The two travelled together despite this being Benedorm’s job alone. When they reached the pride lands they found a cold and desolate land ruled by the former king’s brother, Scar. The monarch welcomed the brothers in, and introduced them to his pride mates. The moment Benedorm’s eyes fell on Nala, the golden lion became smitten. It was because he loved her (and thought she loved him) that Benedorm helped her escape the pridelands. When she returned with a lion she claimed to be Simba, both Benedorm and Laurofin were in disbelief. They halted the two lions from their plan to reclaim the throne for several days, and would have kept it up had they not received direct orders from the guild to help the supposed Simba.
The two brothers begrudgingly lend their assistance in the take down. When all is done, Benedorm insists on his feelings for Nala who admits the truth (that she never cared for him) and leaves the golden lion blazing. Benedorm abandons his Post against orders and returns to the guild with Laurofin. Both brothers are punished by Mwenye for not doing their duty, and so the two keep a low profile until Kanu’s return. At the sight of the former leader the two brothers become the chief instigators of bad blood between the quickly forming factions. Both Laurofin and Benedorm support Kanu’s return to power.
Trivia:
Benedorm is the lightest colored of all his siblings- he resembles his mother’s family more so than his father’s.
Despite having six other brothers who were also raised to be defenders, only Benedorm and two of his brothers actually earned their wing, the other two being the twins.
Benedorm is the most in tune with the great spirit of all his brothers (though this diminishes after his return to the Guild from the pride lands) ; like most defenders he can converse with the spirits of the ancestors.
Benedorm is suspected to be related to Shadowmane through his father.
He is closest to Laurofin of all his brothers ; when the two are together they have the tendency to bring out the worst in each other (but never at each other).
Has a habit of pacing when he’s anxious or worried.
He has a bobbed/short tail like his brother Mae.
Summary-Relation: Benedorm, a member of the defenders’ is assigned to the pride lands during Scar’s reign. There he meets and falls in love with Nala and helps her escape. Upon her return, Benedorm attempts to stop her and Simba from reclaiming the throne until he gets orders otherwise. When he finds out that she doesn’t care for him, Benedorm abandons his post and returns home with his brother.
