Basic Information:

Inyoka (Kaa for short) Is The Father of Kovu and Nuka, Inyoka used to be a prideladner in his youth. He was but a cub when his brother Nyova, Scar and Mufasa were older teens  he would often try and follow them around to be like the older cubs. that all ended when a new Lioness came to join the pride with her daughter, Umama and Zira. Zira and Inyoka became fast friends. Kaa and Zira where inseparable in those days, but Zira had a big crush for Scar, still Inyoka would try his best to impress her.

One day, while trying to follow the older cubs, Kaa  was challenged to stare into the eye of a solar eclipse, "all the coolest lions can do it" they told him. Kaa gave it a try, but as it started to burn and he tried to look away two of the bigger cubs held him still and made him watch.

Nyova, Zira, Sarafina and Scar rushed to help Kaa, they pushed away the two bullies. Kaa tried to keep a brave face in front of Zira, but once Scar and Nyova sent the girls off, Kaa started to cry, his eyes burned so badly and he confessed he couldn't see clearly. Nyova and Scar rushed Kaa to Rafiki for healing, but it was too late, Kaa had lost most of his vision. He could see some vague shapes and colors, but not much.

From that day on Kaa was jaded, He didn't trust others and tried to fun off even his friends. He spent his time listening to Rakifi and learning from his wisdom. Rafiki was the only one Kaa trusted other than his Brother. Zira hurt by the fact that Kaa had given up on her as well, confronted him. in the argument was when she realized, she did have feelings to Kaa.

Over time Kaa and Zira became mates, and Kaa became Rafiki's assistant Shaman. When Kaa realized that Zira would be having his first cub, Kaa went to Rafiki and asked if there was anyway to make his vision better sot hat he might protect his family. Rafiki told him there was no way to heal his eyes, but he could help him see. Rafiki bonded Kaa's spirit with that of an Un-spirit (Non-sentient) Snake. the snake wrapped itself around Kaa's neck, and it's eyes could guild Kaa. he could not see colors, but Kaa was able to see the land in silhouettes which made it easier for him to move around and separate objects from each other.

Scar's reign over the Pridelands was a harsh one, Nyova, Kaa's brother was kicked out of the Pridelands along with many other males. Scar threatened to kick Kaa out as well, but he valued Kaa as a shaman and healer, he also kept him around for show, a lion with a Python about it's neck a this beck and call? why that showed power and respect!

Kaa did as Scar wanted, but not happily, he just wanted to protect his mate and newborn son. Kaa stayed until Simba arrived and took back the pridelands, Kaa and Zira started to argue more and more, for she supported Scar's reign and he did not. When Zira chased off her only friend a dwarf lioness called Smidge, Kaa jumped in to stop her from killing to cub Sareea, who was close to Smidge. He gave Sareea time to run away. Many lionesses warned him that Zira was changing, but he ignored it.

When Simba returned, Kaa helped him fight off the Hyena's to get to Scar, he cleared a path for Simba but was confronted by Zira, he refused to fight her, and instead blocked her way. When Scar was defeated, Zira held a grudge for Kaa at first, but could see in his eyes he only wanted what was best for her and thier son.

They made up, and Both left the pridelands, they could not stay because of all the bad memories it held. So they found Nyova, who had started a small pride in the Outlands. Kaa and Zira lived there, with him. trying their best to get by but it was a harsh cruel land that suffered attacks from Rogue lions often.

Nyova, had a daughter, Vitani around the same time Kaa's son Kovu was born. both brothers were proud fathers, and they had hope for the future of their pride. 

Then, while Nyova went out to search for a water source for the pride, he was attacked by a Rogue lion, and never returned. Kaa and Zira found him, Vitani was too young to understand, and after her mother gave into grief, Zira took the little cub in, raising her with her own sons.

Kaa became King, and his first task was to move his pride out of such dangerous lands. So once every had time to mourn the loss of King Nyova and he was sure they were safe for a time, Kaa went out to search for a safer place to call home. The journey he hoped would be a quick one, turned into one that lasted years.

Eventually he found a place, and went back to his pride, he only hoped ZIra and his cubs would forgive him, as  he had been gone for so long. He returned to find his pride was gone, and learned from a lioness named Nirmala that they had joined with the lions of Pride Rock. Kaa returned to the the Pridelands to find his mate was washed away in the river and his eldest son was dead. He was told the story by Nala the only one who welcomed him in at first.

Nala got Kovu to talk with Kaa, Kovu was bitter toward shim for leaving him with his mean mother all that time in that harsh land. fortunately, with some help from Kiara, SImba and Nala, Kovu came around and forgave Kaa. Sadly, Kaa could not stay, he had to return to the lands he had found, for there he had started a pride, and had become its king. With him came many of the former Outsiders. Kaa also vowed to find Zira dead or alive, he needed closure and answers.

Species: Lion

Appearance: Kaa is a dark brownish red lion who greatly favors Kovu's pelt. He as green snake-like eyes and a shaggy black mane with matching elbow tufts. he has lighter cheeks and ear markings. he sports a snake which acts as his guide as he is blind. he can often be found with feathers and paint on. These have been place don him by Rafiki and later Babu who becomes his Mjuzi.

Personality: As a cub, Kaa is very impressionable and longs to fit in with the cool crowd. As he grows Kaa becomes a wise leader. He is caring and fatherly and loves keeping histories on his pride and family. He likes being a Shaman and he likes to help and heal others. He is the sort who is always giving advice to others, even though sometimes he has a hard time following his own advice. Kaa is not a fighter, and he doesn't like the thought of hurting others, so he uses redirection and evasion if he must fight and never uses his teeth or claws.

Trivia:

• His name as well as his brothers name means Snake in Zulu.
• His Nicknames are: Kaa, King Kaa, Charmer, and Slither.
• He is only called Inyoka by Zira, Simba and Vitani.
• Sometimes his Snake hide's its face in his mane when it is not needed and sleeps.
• While his snake looks mean, it is actually friendly to most.
• Snake is un-spirited, which means it is not sentient like many other animals.
• his design and over all look was inspired by the actor Jonny Depp and Tuomas Holopainen of the band Nightwish :) and Kovu of course.

Character Summary - Universal Relation:

In short, Inyoka, or Kaa as many call him, is a former pridelander and father of Nuka and Kovu. An act of bullying caused him to lose his sight and now he needs the help of a snake, who is bonded to his spirit, to see. He was taught to be a shaman by Rafiki, who also gave him the snake. Kaa becomes the king of the outlands for a short time before going off to start his own pride and trying to reunite with his children.
