Basic Information:

Kanu is A former Pridelander who was once apart of Scar's Lion guard, However after a dream warned him of what Scar of the snake bite and what he may become, Kanu tried to warn Scar. but scar did not believe Kanu's words, and when The Strange Lion came around, Kanu would try and protect Scar from him. In a heated rumble between Kanu and The Strange Lion, Scar was forced to pick a side, and he sided with The Strange Lion.

Kanu was framed, to look like he set scar up from the start, and the Strange lion claimed that Kanu made him lure Scar in an atempt to have his life spared. Scar still killed the Strange Lion and the cobra and Kanu was run out by Mufasa. Mufasa told him of a place he could go, as he didn't entirely believe the story he was told. He told Kanu to go two the Graveyard, as asked the Black Buzzard to seek councel with "The Four Manes" with the Phrase "I seek the Four Manes, so that I might Fly."

Kanu did this, and the Buzzard lead him to an underground cave system hidden within a tunnel found inside of an ancient Mammoth skull. Inside he found a large pride of lions, most looked like wanderers just stopping for a rest. thought the large cave Kanu was taken into a smaller cavern, near a small pool. Trees even seemed to grow here. across the pool sat Four Lions, with eyes that could look clear through him. three males and a female.

After standing in silence and being judged by thier eyes, but not with a disapproving gaze, rather one that a parent gives thier children as they try to figure out who they could be in the future, The male with two toned mane stepped forward. He said his name was Bloodmane, and that they (Greymane, Shadowmane, and Skymane) where the founders of "The Defenders of Legacy" and Pride Leaders of "The Guild of Defenders"

Bloodmane, told Kanu that he had a heart of a defender, a protector, and that what was doen to him was unjust. He offered Kanu redemtion should he join and purpose. He spoke about Kanu's strong connection with the ancestors and great circle of life.

Kanu joined and was taught much about the History of the Defenders. and Soon he along with a younger lion named Mwenye became favored among the four manes.

The one day, while visiting the pool of stars, Kanu was spoken too by a dark ancestor, it had tainted to spirit of two of the Four Manes, and they began to order the Defenders to do things that went against thier codes. the Defenders started to split. In a desperate attempt to save the Order, Kanu with the help of Skymane and Mwenye slowly worked in secret to stop them. 

Thier efforts were nearly ruined when Bloodmane killed Skymane. Many of the Defenders mourned her loss and turned against the three remaining Manes and ended thier lives. Kanu was then elected the New Leader of the Defenders with Mwenye as his Right Comander. Kanu lead the defenders for manny years, until one day, He was spoken to by the Pool of Stars, and with no word, left into the night.

The day he finally returned....he was not the same...

Species: Lion

Appearence: Wider top half and narrowers back half, ashen fur with a dark brown very full main. his under belly is shaggy and he has a thin tail tuft. Kanu is covered in scars and has vivid green eyes. 

Personality: Has his own code which he sticks to and his own morals. Kanu will do whatever is nessassary to right a wrong, even if the path is one that is morally grey. He believes heavily in purpose and in honoring the ancestors as well as the great spirit. Kanu is often seen a ruthless against his foes and many fear him at a glance, But he has a big heart. Cunning, Quiet, contemplative, and smart are ways to describe this mysterious lion.

• It is suspected that Imara might be his Niece.
• He can speak with Lions whom have spassed on and see the past or future in dreams.
• Kanu got most of his scar while serving in Scar's Lion Guard
• Kanu is a skilled hunter, unlike most make lions.
• Kanu never had any cubs of his own.
