Background: Born and raised in the outskirts of the Pridlenads, they lived peacefully until Scar became King. His neglect of the land leads to drought and famine, which lead to their death of starvation to save Musa. While he was out hunting when he saw a pack of hyenas harassing a young lioness named Salina. He forced the hyenas away and as they saw no food or water for miles, Musa and Salina walked together to find a better place to live. They traveled, day and night through the deserted land when Salina found orphaned cubs and decided to take them in as their own until they grew up. As the pride grew, so did Musa and Salina's love. Time passed until the pride settled into the Grasslands, Musa grew rather fond of a cub named Lula who reminded him of his mother. After a terrible storm, a little cub named Kopa washed up on his riverside. They took in the young cub to gain his strength, meanwhile never knowing his true identity as the lost prince. Until one night when he heard Kopa whimpering for his mother and father, Musa woke Kopa from his nightmare as he tried to comfort him. Kopa ran from the pride so they could talk alone, Musa listened as Kopa explained that he fell into the rushing river to escape Zira, Scar's most loyal follower. Realizing Kopa was the son of Simba, the King of the Pridelands, he promised to keep his identity a secret and to sid in his journey to return home when he was ready. Kopa nuzzled Musa to thank him and as the cub curled next to Salina, he wondered if returning to the Pridelands would be best for the pride someday.

One day as Musa was patrolling his land, a pack of hyenas invaded and as he chased them off, Musa accidentally stepped on a venomous snake and was slowly dying from the poison. He bid a weak farewell to Salina, Lula, and the other cubs as he took one last breath staring at the gleaming stars within the sunset.
