Story: Ryder and his younger brother and sister were born to prince Roscoe of the Isu Keeney pride and his mate Sera, some time after the defeat of Lagiza the Weaver, the pride's worst enemy. His father was one of the heroes who defeated the Weaver, so Ryder admired him a lot and since a very young age he wanted to become a brave and strong warrior like Roscoe. Ever since they were young, Ryder was very protective of his siblings, even up to the point where they found it rather annoying, but the three still had a close bond and they loved playing together. Since he was the oldest, Ryder felt very responsible towards his younger siblings and almost never let them out of his sight. He was pretty much the voice of reason amongst the three, and did his best to keep them out of trouble, but one day, the trio wandered outside the pride's territory and came across a pond where Makuu the crocodile and his flock lived. Ryder tried to get them to turn back, but Kaleb insisted they went to investigate closer - which was obviously a mistake, as Makuu lunged from the water and chased the cubs. They managed to escape, only to realize that they were completely lost. Then, they ran into an elderly lioness, who turned out to be queen Kiara of the Pridelands. Ryder told her who they were and where they were from, and learned that she was actually an old family friend. After the cub explained the situation, Kiara agreed to walk them home safely, and at the same time she could pay a visit to her old friends, Ryder, Kaleb and Allie's great aunts. Roscoe scolded his cubs for going outside the pride's territory, but couldn't stay angry long for, and soon they were all playing and having fun together again. Ryder developed a close friendship with Millie, daughter of Roscoe's best friend Theo and his mate Lucy. They went on all kinds of adventures together and shared everything, and it wasn't until they were in their teens that he started realizing that he might be feeling something a little stronger towards Millie. Finally, when they had reached adulthood, the two confessed their love for each other, and were bethrothred and then finally officially married.

Relation to TLK: He and his siblings were chased by Makuu, and met Kiara who took them back home after they ventured into the Pridelands.
