She has smaller ears and dark ear rims with lighter underfur that extends slightly up her legs. She is a fairly long lioness. When performing any rituals, Reem wears blue paint on her face/body. She has a dark nose tip like Simba.
Personality: Reem is somewhat of a smartass who enjoys winning. She is extremely competitive and has a bad habit of being a sore loser. She’s very much a chatterbox, often times not knowing when to stop. The lioness often gets caught up in her own thoughts and has some difficulties focusing on anything for too long. Reem is energetic and full of ideas- she’s known to start many projects but almost never finishes them. Reem is fiercely loyal, and because of this she has a hard time letting lions go. She has a hard time spotting the bad in others, becoming blind to the faults of others if she happens to care for them. Reem often times acts cold as a way of hiding the fact that she cares so much. When she loves, she loves fully and at times too hard. Reem is also a perfectionist and is hardest on herself when she doesn’t immediately achieve success. Her biggest flaw is that she has a hard time putting herself in the paws of others; she can thus sometimes be judgmental as she doesn’t understand why anyone would make a “bad choice” that she herself wouldn’t make. When Reem does decide to let go of someone, or that they are no longer worth her time, there is no going back. If she decides to no longer care, then she ceases to care completely. Reem is also afraid of being alone, and dislikes not having anyone to spend time with. She is very creative and enjoys decorating and organizing things.
History: Reem was born as the twin sister of Kopa to Simba and Nala. The siblings were absolutely inseparable and did everything together. They were constantly exploring, often times landing them in trouble with their parents who feared for their safety due to the threat of the outlanders. On one of their adventures, Kopa and Reem found their way into the outlands where they ran into Zira. For whatever reason, the lioness decided to let them go. After this experience, Simba kept the siblings under strict watch. Being stuck at home was not all for naught though- it was during this time that Reem met her best friend, Simonetta, the cousin of Timon. Reem also kept busy by spending time with Abelina, another cub from the pride. After the birth of Kiara, Reem began to experience night terrors. It began with small nightmares of fires and a dead pridelands, but the terrors soon escalated. They became unbearable- Reem couldn’t sleep, as they sapped all of her energy. She would wake up in a cold sweat with the images that haunted her. Her parents were concerned, and so they consulted with Rafiki on what he might do. The baboon decided that the best course of action would be to take Reem with him to his tree where he might be able to treat her. Kopa and Reem were then separated as Rafiki did not allow anyone to visit or interrupt the healing process of the lioness.
Rafiki’s cure included having Reem help him with healing other animals and practicing medicine. For just a little while, the distance from the pridelands had a positive effect on Reem. She was able to sleep for a little bit at a time without fear of the nightmares. She devoted herself fully to helping Rafiki and became quite skilled herself in the art of healing. All of this progress was for naught though. Word came that her brother Kopa, who she loved more than anyone, was missing. Reem made her way back into the pridelands to help aid in the search for her brother but entering the pride lands triggered the terrors again. On her first night back in her parents’ land, she experienced the most draining and terrifying nightmare, which left her unconscious. Reem was brought back to Rafiki’s tree by her exceptionally worried father, but even being in Rafiki’s tree wasn’t enough. Rafiki tried to awaken the princess in many ways, but none of them would take. Rafiki then enlisted the help of other lions that had experience with such things. A healer from the Night Pride, Nirmala, had seen something similar to what Reem was going through. It was decided that Reem would leave for the Night Pride and spend time healing at the Tree of Life. The only solace that Reem has was in the presence of her friend Simonetta, who accompanied her on the journey. Being far from the Pride Lands, Reem finally awoke in the night pride’s territory. During her time in the Night Pride Reem was introduced to a young lioness named Njozi, who at the time was the apprentice of Nirmala. The two lionesses bonded over their original home land. At first Njozi was skeptical of Reem's experiences as she did not believe in the spirits but rather in things that she had seen an experienced. When Reem explained her story, the young apprentice became very interested.
With the help of Nirmala, Reem regained much of her strength. After some time of healing, Reem was ecstatic to learn that her brother was in fact safe. Kopa came to visit his sister at the Tree of Life and spoke to her about leaving the pride lands behind, for her own good. Reem wasn’t keen on this idea at first, but Kopa would not let her near their home again. He promised her that he would not leave her side, but that instead they could go on to found their own pride, far away from the pride lands so that Reem would not be affected by it. Reem was eventually convinced, and the twins left the night pride in favor or brighter lands. Simonetta accompanied Reem, as the two had formed an unshakeable bond. Nirmala's apprentice Njozi also followed, as she felt her bond with Reem was too important to discard. They found a small oasis in the desert where they decided to found the Sun Pride. Abelina, Reem's former friend and Kopa's lover, left the pridelands to join the twins in the forming of the Sun Pride. Kopa and Reem were open to taking in anyone who needed it, whether it was because they needed to escape their past or simply had no home, all would be welcome in the Sun Pride. A quiet white lioness by the name of Keyrath found them in their earlier days and offered herself as a possible new huntress in the pride. Because Reem had never actually learned to hunt, Keyrath was gladly accepted into the pride. Reem officially became the pride’s healer. From her time with Rafiki and Nirmala, she had also learned quite a bit about shamanism and was able to have some slight contact with her ancestors for wisdom and protection. She became extremely well known for her skills throughout many lion circles. Reem never again set foot in the pride lands, although her other family members will still visit her and Kopa from time to time. In the beginning days of the Sun Pride's formation, an older male lion defended one of the cubs, Kali, from certain death. As a courtesy for his good deeds, Kopa and Reem allowed the male, Hajari, to stay whilst he recovered, and Reem graciously helped heal him, though she did not trust him much. The two eventually began to settle their differences and Reem was proud to find a good friend in Hajari. The two spent much time together after the pride was settled.
Reem encountered many lions when the pride was first formed, some, strangers she had never met, others former friends she had forgotten about, such as her former cubhood friend Kayin. Some lions that wandered for too long in the desert found themselves too tired to continue and oftentimes Reem would find them and have them brought back to the oasis where they could recover. Reem was eventually visited by her dear friend and former mentor Nirmala with a young cub by the name of Sandro, whom Reem graciously accepted into the pride as she adored him and his good nature. On one of her walks around the pride territory, Reem ran into an unconscious lion. She had her brother and Hajari bring him back to the pride and she spent much time healing him back to health. When he awoke, Jarvis as he was called, was offered a place as a guard by Kopa. Reem was happy that her brother now had many friends, despite the fact that it became apparent Jarvis was in competition with Hajari for her affections.
