Generation: Simba's Gen

Parents: Sarabi, Scar
Sibling/s: Sukari, Simba (half), Nuka (half)

Cub/s: Habari, Roshaun

Pride: Pridelands Pride
Rank: Huntress
Former Pride: Eastlands Pride

Personality: Much like her mother, Huria is a pretty confident lioness, and is very self-assured; she knows who she is and what she wants, so it's very rare for her to doubt herself. However, this also means she tends to think one way and think it's right, so she can be stubborn in her beliefs. Her confidence and stubbornness makes her seem abrasive, but she has a big heart for her family, and holds all of them dear to her heart. She's very protective of her family, and if she feels they are threatened, she gets much more defensive. Her loyalty and closed-mindedness also means that if someone disagrees with her, she takes it personally, and she can be upset with them for a while. Despite her tough, stern outer shell, Huria is no stranger to humor, and loves to crack wry jokes, just like her mother.
Like/s: Family, Humor, Long Walks, Habari
Dislike/s: Scar, Hyenas, Rule Breakers

History:

When Scar took over and allowed the hyenas to live at Priderock, the lionesses were wary and skeptical. Worried about a possible rebellion, Scar proposed to Sarabi that she stay as queen, and act as his mate. Sarabi reluctantly agreed; though she had lost her mate and cub, and was devastated by the fact, her duty was to her pride and her pridemates. If she accepted, she would still be queen and be able to keep Scar in check, and thus the two were married. He pressured Sarabi to have his cubs and so, not too many months after Simba and Mufasa died, Sarabi gave birth to Huria and Sukari. Scar was never much one for raising cubs, and so he left the duty to Sarabi; he only needed the cubs as proof that Sarabi was on-board, to show the lionesses that she had moved on from Mufasa and Simba.

Though her heart was broken, Sarabi poured all her love into her daughters, and hoped that through her teachings, they wouldn't end up like their father. Of the sisters, Huria was the leader of the two, often being decisive and at the head while Sukari followed along happily. Despite being the daughters of Scar, the hyenas knew he didn't much care for them, and they, too, were harassed by the hyenas, even with the lionesses being very protective over the smallest members of the pride.

It was just their luck that Sarabi and Sarafina stumbled upon some of the teens of the pride planning to escape, and Sarabi agreed to help as long as Sukari and Huria went with them. The two girls, particularly Huria, refused to leave their mother, but Sarabi promised that they would be safe and all three of them would be reunited soon. Begrudgingly, Huria and Sukari agreed, and when the plan came to fruition, Huria and Sukari escaped with Tama and Kula. Chumvi was also meant to come with them, but they had been caught at the last second, and he fought off the hyenas to give the lionesses time to escape with the cubs. After being a safe distance away, they waited and waited, but with no sign of Chumvi, they had to move on, for fear of Scar or the hyenas tracking them down.

Now traveling as rogues, the group was intent on finding the Eastlands Pride and asking them for help, however Tama believed they should find Malka and his pride first. Kula disagreed, wanting to stick to the original plan, and after many arguments they split up, with Tama going to find Malka, and the cubs sticking with Kula, as the journey to Malka's pride was too dangerous. Their travel to the Eastlands Pride was full of difficulties, and they struggled to survive in the hopes of shelter and salvation. When they finally reached the Eastlands Pride in the jungle, they were welcomed quickly, but after explaining their predicament, King Bujune declined to help the Pridelands; they simply didn't have the numbers to go up against Scar and the hyenas.

This didn't sit well with Huria; she'd hoped to return to her mother, and soon, but now everything was put on hold. At first she was angry and frustrated, lashing out at Kula and overall refusing to be cooperative. Eventually, Kula sat her down and the two had a heart to heart. Though not too good with words, Huria explained how she was feeling, and Kula assured her that they would return to Priderock, and she encouraged Huria to grow up like her mother would've wanted her to.

From then on, Huria worked hard to fit in and pull her weight, becoming a rather successful huntress in the process. Though she did eventually adjust to the jungle, she wished nothing more than to return to the Pridelands and hopefully see her mother again. It wasn't until Huria and Sukari were young adults that news arrived: Scar was defeated and Simba, miraculously, was alive and had taken his rightful place as king. The Pridelanders were eager to return home to see their friends and family and soon, they set out with Amir, Imzabi, and Queen Hanina to finally see the Pridelands.

Arriving back home, Huria and Sukari were delighted to finally see their mother after so long, and they met their half-brother, Simba, whom they'd only heard stories of. The reunion was a joyous occasion, but the festivities were cut short for Huria when she learned Sukari would be returning to the Eastlands to be with Imzabi. She was outraged at this; all their lives, they had worked hard in the hopes of returning home, and now that their home, and their family, was in their grasp, Sukari was giving it all up for someone else. Huria was extremely hurt by her sister's decision, resulting in a big argument over it; she had just gotten her mother back, and now her sister was leaving too. Huria felt like her life was being ripped in two.

As days passed and she refused to speak with Sukari, Sarabi took it into her own paws to talk with Huria, and convince her to apologize to Sukari. Huria found it hard to understand how her sister would want to leave them, but she didn't want her sister to hate her forever. On the day of their departure, Huria finally approached Sukari and apologized for her behavior, but she made it clear that she was still wary of Imzabi. Sukari understood, and though things weren't completely fixed, Huria felt a bit better after talking with her sister. Now back home and with her family, she was content to catch up with her mother and old friends.

Soon enough, she welcomed her niece, Kiara, into the family, and she slowly grew close to Simba and the other pridemembers. Time passed, and though the Outlanders posed a threat, Huria was determined to back up her pride. As Kiara grew into a teenager, tragedy struck the pride; Sarabi passed away, much to the grief of Huria, Simba, and the pride in general. Huria decided to tell Sukari in person of their mother's passing, and made the journey by herself to the Eastlands, and once she arrived and told the news, she grieved alongside her sister. She spent a few days with the pride, and finally approved of Sukari and Imzabi's union before returning home.

On her travels back to the Pridelands, she came across a rogue who stuck with her for part of the journey. They parted ways when she finally reached her pride, and eventually, she found out she was pregnant. She gave birth to her son, Habari, just a month before the Pridelanders faced off with the Outlanders, eventually accepting the Outlanders into their pride. Though having a son was a bit difficult at first, she quickly grew into the responsibility and she absolutely adores her son, giving him the best possible care she can. As her son grew older, she cherished him more and more, and when he told her of cubs teasing and bullying him, she made sure to have a stern talk with their parents, hoping her son would have a better chance at making friends.

As Habari got older, she and some of the others began to notice he was becoming clumsier, and he complained of headaches and troubled eyesight. At first, she didn't think it was too serious, but when it only seemed to get worse, she turned to Rafiki for answers. After the mandrill examined him, he explained that the problem was permanent, and even warned that his eyesight could get worse with time. Huria refused to give up on her son, and spent extra time with him, hoping he would be able to live better with his condition if he just trained hard enough. But she also became even more protective of Habari, worried that he could get hurt due to his failing eyesight. On one particular day she couldn't find Habari, and in a panic set out looking for him. When she saw him cornered by a strange male, she reacted instantly and attacked the rogue before Habari pleaded with her to release him. The rogue male, named Walinzi, claimed he was of no harm to them, but Huria, still fiercely protective of her son, didn't believe him, and brought him to see King Kovu and Queen Kiara.

Subsequently, Walinzi was allowed to stay with them, and though he seemed to get on well with the other lionesses, Huria wasn't so fast to accept him. He seemed to take a special interest in Habari, especially after learning of his visual impairment, and soon the two began spending time together. Huria, the ever protective mother, always accompanied them and supervised, watching over them as Walinzi taught and trained Habari. Soon enough, she began speaking with and hanging out with Walinzi outside of these training sessions, and the two started to become close. Huria soon began harboring feelings for Walinzi, and though she's certain she likes him in a romantic way, she's still a bit wary about him, and so keeps her feelings hidden for now.

Slowly, the two grew to be good friends, swapping stories and talking about their families and their travels. However, if there's one thing Huria wanted to keep secret, it was her father; she'd learned a long time ago that the topic of Scar was a very heavy one, and while she knew she was nothing like him, she preferred not to bring up such a sensitive subject. Though Walinzi questioned her, she always made sure to brush it off and keep it under wraps, as in her mind, her father wasn't an important part of her life or who she was. Their friendship took a turn when Walinzi accidentally revealed he knew who her father was, and Huria was furious he'd gone behind her back when she'd told him not to. Being as stubborn as she was, she began to pointedly ignore him despite his attempts to apologize, and their friendship quickly began to dissolve. It was only after an intervention from Mgumu and Habari that Huria finally listened, and after such a sincere apology from Walinzi, she tentatively forgave him. Still, she let him know he was on thin ice when it came to their friendship, and if he pulled something like that again, she may not forgive him.

Over time, their friendship began to mend and it turned into something more. Though Walinzi was very gentle and soft, much different from the confident and abrasive Huria, she found herself liking those qualities about him. He also got along splendidly with her son, and eventually the two officially decided to make their relationship official. Huria and Walinzi became mates, and Walinzi adopted Habari as his own son. Life, for a time, was peaceful, until Huria suddenly became pregnant. While Walinzi had mentioned cubs before and was very excited at the news, Huria had a more lax approach. She was happy, of course, but didn't see it as that big of a deal. Unlike Habari's pregnancy, which had been easy, this one kept Huria sick constantly, and she was often in a bad mood, making the experience miserable.

The troubles peaked when it was finally time to give birth. The birthing process was long and difficult, especially due to her older age, but eventually their son, Roshaun, was born. Both mother and son were left weakened by the process, and it took some time for them to fully recuperate, leaving Walinzi and Habari very worried. Huria instantly fell in love with her son, just as she had Habari, though she was very worried for him; because of her older age and the strain they'd gone through, Roshaun was a very small, weak cub, the only one of his litter, and she knew he'd have to be given special care to thrive. Still, despite these difficulties, she, Walinzi, and Habari were happy to add him to their little family, and life, once more, was peaceful.
