Personality: Mikhulu will do anything to get attention. As a cub, his way of getting it was usually by annoying the other cubs (mainly the girls, as he found most of the rather irritating). He usually just teases people, but if what he says is hurtful, he doesn't actually mean it, and will usually regret saying it afterwards. It's just his way of getting noticed, as he's often afraid he isn't being noticed enough.

Mikhulu is a coward. He knows this, and it ashamed of it, but tries his best to hide it from everyone. He will only ever fight lions he knows he can beat (Though there are only a few, because Mikhulu is weaker than most lions). He avoids fighting anyone stronger than him, or doing anything else where he might get hurt. He tries to hide this by boasting about things he's done, which are usually either very exaggerated or just lies. Mikhulu often worries about what others think of him, and that they might make fun of him because he's a coward or because he's weak, or anything else about him.

Though it might not always seem like it, Mikhulu cares a lot about other people. He loves his friends and family more than anything. But his fears sometimes cause him to refuse to help them, which can make him appear mean and selfish. However, if someone he loves is in danger, Mikhulu will forget his fears to help them, because keeping them safe is the most important thing to him.

Appearance: Mikhulu is thinner, less muscular, and slightly shorter than most male lions. His head is round, and he has a rather flat, rounded nose. His ears are large, and his right one has two cuts caused by Claws, an eagle who tried to catch Mikhulu multiple times. Mikhulu's tail tuft is big, and the fur on his elbows is long.

Likes: Getting attention, Kyra, his family, making friends, being lazy, fighting (as long as he knows he can win), annoying others

Dislikes: Hunting, being alone, fighting lions stronger than him, being beaten, doing work, some of the girl cubs (as a cub)

Backstory:

Mikhulu's parents were rogues, and he used to travel with them and his baby sister, Xhomekeka. Unfortunately, not long after Xhomekeka was born, there was a drought where they were, and his parents began to fear Xhomekeka wouldn't survive. Mikhulu loved his sister so much, and the thought of her dying terrified him. He began to realize that if his parents didn't have to feed him, Xhomekeka would get more food and might have a better chance of surviving. So one night, without telling anyone, Mikhulu ran away from his family.

It had seemed a good idea at the time, but Mikhulu soon regretted leaving. Traveling by himself was much harder than he had expected it to be. He was constantly being hunted by predators, especially an eagle named Claws. Finding food for himself was rather difficult, since he knew very little about hunting, and there was hardly any prey in the deserts he was traveling through.

Eventually Mikhulu came to an oasis, and decided to live there, but soon found out that it was already the home of a pride lead by a lion named Jafiya. Mikhulu avoided the pride, especially the adult lions, as he feared he would be chased away if anyone found out about him. But he was lonely, and eventually tried to make friends with some of the cubs in the pride (Though he only got the courage to do this after his first encounter with them, in which he accidentally fell out a tree and landed right in front of them). He soon got to know some of the cubs (And even some of the adults, too), and was welcome to stay in the oasis.

One of Jafiya's daughters, Kyra, interested Mikhulu. He admired how protective she was over her siblings, as few of the other female cubs were that fierce. But despite his admiration, Mikhulu enjoyed annoying Kyra more than any of the other cubs. However, the two cubs did slowly become friends.

Relation to TLK: Several times he was chased by Claws, an eagle from a magazine story.
