Story: Jamal and his older sister Leasha were born in the Oasis pride deep in the jungle, a territory surounded by beautiful waterfalls and lovely scenery, to it's king Ngosi and queen Etana. His parents were originally from the Pride lands, his mother being the son of Scar and Zira and his father being the son of Kula, but they had decided to leave their birth home with a couple of followers to start a pride of their own. Since Jamal was the youngest, his sister was obviously chosen as the heir to the throne, and at first Jamal felt a bit jealous, but het got over it pretty soon, he liked having the freedom to explore and play while his sister was taking royal lessons from their parents. But whenever she was free, the two siblings were really close and they loved playing together. They were all a close family unit, and occasionally Ngosi took Jamal stargazing with him, which was something they both enjoyed a lot. One day, Ngosi took him on patrol with him, but the king and prince soon found themselved ambushed by queen Sauda and her lions from the Bloodbourne pride. A fight broke out, and Ngosi, being the main target of the attack, ordered his son flee. Refusing to leave his father to fight the enemy alone, Jamal lunged at one of the Bloodbourne lions, a male, only to find himself soon outnumbered. The prince managed to escape just barely, but Ngosi was sadly captured by the enemy. Jamal ran, until finally, injured and exhausted, he collapsed. A pridelander lioness found him, and took him back to the Pridelands, where he learned that the lioness who had saved him was named Kyon. He stayed was welcomed to stay as long as he needed to regain his strength, and during that time he really took a liking to Kyon - but also couldn't help but worry about his father, who was still a prisoner of the enemy.

Relation to TLK: Grandson to Kula, Scar and Zira, his love interest is Chumvi's daughter.
