Story: Roscoe and his sister Kira were born to Jot and Rin in the Isu Keeney pride, a year apart from their siblings Drummer and Lynnie. He was a wild and mischevious cub, who loved teasing Kira in a playful way, and to drive her crazy, and to play wrestle with his father and brother, however they couldn't do that very often since Drummer and Lynnie were busy with the Auni, a group of lions that protected the pride. Occasionally his aunts, who were close friends with elderly queen Nala and queen Kiara, took him for trips to the Pridelands and he got to meet the royal lionesses and explore the Pridelands while his aunts associated with the two queens.

One day, Roscoe was taken for a walk by one of his older friends, Zeke. As they were walking, Roscoe happily played ahead of Zeke, chasing bugs and laughing. They reached a waterfall, with a cave behind it, which was where Zeke told Roscoe a surprise was waiting. Roscoe stepped inside the cave, Zeke coming a little behind, and that's when the cub noticed something wrong with his friend - he just looked to the ground, with a blank expression on his face. Roscoe then felt sharp claws grab him from the scruff of his neck, lifting him up to face a pair of dark eyes and a sinister grin, which belonged to none other than Lagiza the Weaver. Roscoe struggled to get out of his grib, which forced Lagiza to knock him out. Several hours later, the prince awoke deep underground in a series of caves, Lagiza came up to him and revealed that he had hypnotized Zeke to bring Roscoe there, so he could turn him into his minion to get revenge on the Isu Keeney.

Roscoe made an attempt to escape, only to be caught by Lagiza who took him to his pet crocodile, Vurugu, and threatened him not to make any more escape attempts, or he would become Vurugu's next meal. Then, he took the discouraged cub to one his remaining followers, a blind lion called Scorpio, who was to begin Roscoe's training. After several hours of harsh training, Roscoe was brought back to his cavern, bruised and exhausted. The cub broke into tears, but then heard a voice, which almost sounded like it was coming from inside the cave walls. He then discovered there was another cavern behind the one he was in, and there was another prisoner held there, an older cub called Theo. There was a crack in the wall from which the two talked to each other every day, Theo's presence gave Roscoe streght and helped him remain strong. Days turned into weeks, and then finally, help arrived as Drummer and Lynnie came to his rescue with the help of Fresco the mole. Fresco dug a large tunnel for them to escape, Roscoe took Theo with him and they made their way to freedom. Roscoe was reunited with his family, and the whole pride celebrated getting their beloved prince back.

Some weeks after being rescued, Roscoe started staying more in the den rather than playing with Kira and their cousins, and spent time in his own company a lot, somewhat isolating himself from the others. He started becoming more quiet and serious, and as he entered his teens, even grouchy and moody at times, and he would mostly spend time on his own, special tree branch deep in the jungle. This worried his family, and they tried talking to him many times, but every time Roscoe would either change the subject or just walk away. The only one he ever really opened up to was Theo, since they understood each other better than anyone could, and became close friends.

Roscoe eventually grew into a healthy and strong adult, but still bottled everything inside him and somewhat used humor and sarcasm as a defense mechanism. One evening, upon returning from his tree, Roscoe came across a lioness he'd never seen before, accompanied by Lynnie, Kira and a few other Isu lionesses. They were introduced; her name was Sera and it turned out she had just joined the pride. Roscoe found her very attractive, but of course didn't say anything, instead he cracked jokes and teased her, pretty much doing anything to irritate her. Sera found him very obnoxius and almost intolerable, and wasn't afraid to tell him off, but this only made Roscoe try even harder to push her buttons.

As they were in the middle of an argument one day, a wildfire broke out, and Roscoe and Sera had to flee and jump into a river. They were washed ashore far away from the Isu Keeney lands, and after fighting for a while, they realized they'd have to work together to find their way back home, so they made peace and agreed to help each other. The more time they spent "stuck" together, the more they started learning to appreciate each other, and eventually, even started to get along. In fact, being with Sera reminded Roscoe that instead of dwelling in the past, he could actually enjoy himself right here, right now, in the present. By the time they finally made it home, Roscoe found himself head over heels in love with Sera, only to learn that she shared his feelings, so they announced their love for each other to the pride, and were officially bethrothed.

Just when Roscoe thought he couldn't be any happier, Sera brought him news that she was expecting cubs. He was the happiest lion ever, and at first very excited about becoming a father - however later he started feeling very nervous, anxious even about his future role and duties. All this resulted to Roscoe getting haunted by nightmares of Lagiza stealing their cubs. This went on for a while, and one night Roscoe awoke from yet another nightmare, which is when he decided that it was time to end it once and for all. So, he snug out on the cover of darkness and headed out to search for Lagiza in order to finally defeat him for good. It didn't take him long to find the Weaver, and blinded with rage, he lunged at the enemy lion. They fought a fierce fight, but Lagiza soon got the upper hand. Roscoe was severely wounded, but just when Lagiza was about to finish him, to both of their surprise, Zeke appeared and came to Roscoe's aid. Zeke fought Lagiza, and Roscoe wanted to help, but was too badly injured to get up. That's when Vurugu jumped from the water and snatched Lagiza's leg, pulling him over the edge. He tried to pull Zeke in with him, but Roscoe managed to get on his feet just in time to get him away, and that's when the Weaver fell to his death, in the jaws of his own pet.

Now, Roscoe's strength was gone and he collapsed to the ground, and that's when the Auni arrived to the scene. They carried him back to the Isu Keeney lands, but he lost consciousness before he could see if Zeke followed them or not. Roscoe was taken to the den, and Sera faithfully sat by his side waiting for him to wake up, and when he did, she was most relieved that her mate was going to be alright. Some weeks later, when Roscoe had recovered and was back on his feet, he and Zeke were honoured by king Kovu and queen Kiara for defeating their mutual enemy, and the two were given a hero's celebration. And then, the day finally came when Sera gave birth to three beautiful and healthy cubs, and the whole pride celebrated the beginning of a whole new chapter.

Relation to TLK: His aunts have close friendships with Nala and Kiara, and they took him to meet them occasionally when he was a cub. Also, he was honoured by Kovu and Kiara for defeating their mutual enemy.
