Basic Information

Karibu is an elderly baboon who appears in 'Follow the Leader'.  She is the cousin of Rafiki and they had grown up with their troop at a place called Grass Walls, under the leadership of the baboon Khalfani. In those years, Karibu used to be a great egg-hunter.

When Rafiki returns to the troop many years after having left and become a traveller,  the baboons are being led by his cousin (Karibu's nephew), the lazy Jelani. Karibu and her people are victims of their leader's selfish ruling, as Grass Walls has been suffering a long drought and Jelani does not wish to bother doing anything about it. In the end, Rafiki takes over the troop and with Simba's aid, guides Karibu and the other baboons to a new and better home.
