History: Laini was an older cub in her old pride. Her pride's den was destroyed in a flood along with the lions along in it. She was saved by her Aunt Halu. Halu also saved her younger brother and her cousin Amala. As Halu was passing away, her dying words were "Go to the Pridelands Laini, take Kuan and Amala and go. Tell Uru the Jungle Pride is no more. Go now. You're our last hope for our Pride."" She listened to her Aunt and went to find the Prideland along with the rest of her family. The three lions, her brother Kuangalia and Amala, were considered rogues as they looked for a new pride. When they came upon the Pridelands, Zuberi and his younger brother Roho took them to Uru and Ahadi. Laini and Kuangalia asked Uru and Ahadi to take care of their cousin, Amala, to grow up with Mufasa and Taka. Laini was especially friends with Sarabi and Sarafina as they were they were slightly older lionesses. Laini and Taka had a special bond. Before Taka was hated by the other lions, he and Laini had a love connection but after she heard Mufasa and Simba died, Laini became Queen of Priderock for a short time. Laini became unfaithful to Taka after he been verbally and mentally abusive. She became pregnant with fertal twins by who she thought was a rogue named Hatari. She convinced Taka that the cubs were his and he named the male cub his heir. Shortly after her son and her daughter were born, Simba came back and overthrew Taka, taking his place on Priderock. Zira overheard that this new cub was the heir to Scar so she staged his death and took the cub for herself. Laini was afraid for the life of her daughter, so she took her daughter Nuru, and ran away to her cousin's pride and currently lives there. She eventually re-found Hatari. She now lives a content life not-knowing that her son Kuua(re-named by Zira as Kovu) is living at Priderock. What she soon figured out when her daughter was older, was that her daughter was actually Scar's child.. since she was seeing both fathers at the time... it is completely possible that there could be more than one fathers in a litter.
