Personality: Kusai has nothing but kindness to offer to others: She's the pridelands resident sweetie pie, helping all she meets, and always tries to see the best in the worst of creatures out of empathy. Because of this, however, she often comes off as a bit too naive, believing that everyone needs help, and strangers are just friends you haven't met yet. This leads to some very unfortunate and awkward situations.

History:

Kusai is the daughter to Tama and Mheetu. During Scar's reign, Tama, Mheetu and Nala grew up together. Often times it felt like it was just them against the world, especially as darkness began to fall over the pridelands - Once Simba returned, however, Nala spent more time with him rather than those two. Tama and Mheetu felt a little bit left in the dust, but it at the very least allowed their relationship to grow into something a bit more - and soon, a cub was on the way.

Kusai was born a male cub. Around the time her mane started to come in, Kusai had a realisation about her own gender. Her body changing, to grow a mane, while other female cubs weren't, sparked a realisation in her. Tama and Mheetu welcomed this realisation with open arms - after all, maned lioness exist already - so Kusai's realisation was a welcome one.

Kusai, as a cub, is best friends with Hesh - a rather grumpy, outcast cub of the pride. No one else in the pride really liked her, as she often acted out and caused trouble.... And so of course, most of the pride is shocked when the incredibly lovable Kusai is spending all of her time with this trouble maker.

The two grow up together, and as they reach their teen years, their friendship starts to become something a bit more - and suddenly they're both flustered, blushy messes. Normal converdations suddenly seemed really personal, and suddenly play flights were too difficult to do with a straight face.
After a stupid amount of time, and dancing around the points, the two eventually confess their feelings for each other, and they're FINALLY a couple.

As a young adult, Hesh starts to express a desire to leave the pride. Having never been liked by anyone there, she wanted to make her own way out there in the world - and Kusai is fully supportive of this. So much so that she's ready to leave with her.

Tama and Mheetu, however, are not so keen on this idea. The pridelands were thriving now, and the safest place to be, and they didn't like their (rather sheltered) daughter venturing out into the unknown.... Kusai's aunt, and Tama's sister, Bari, is fully supportive of the idea, however.

This causes some friction between the family, particularly as Bari used to be one of the lioness that chose to follow Scar - Ultimately, however, it was down to Kusai to decide - and Kusai made her decision. She left the pridelands with her girlfriend, and the two venture out as rogues, taking life as it comes.
