Personality: Maska was a foolish and childish cub, even when she was a teen. But as an early adult Maska realized how unwise she was and became more smart and mature. But deep inside Maska was very kind and loving, despite her unfriendly appearance.

History:

Maska was born in a pride outside the Pride Lands sometime after her brother, Ni. Ni was a little older than Maska, yet the two loved each other deeply. However, Ni would get exasperated with trying to keep his sister out of trouble. She was not the wisest of cubs, often showing off and agreeing to dares. This continued even when she was a teen. One day teen-age Maska was dared to enter a hyena's cave. She accepted it, but soon wished she hadn't. When she entered, she was attacked by the hyena. Soon the king of her pride came and rescued Maska, who wasn't hurt much. After that Maska tried to avoid danger and never agreed to dares.

Maska left her old pride and came across the Canyon Pride, a pride that resided in a long canyon within a desert. The canyon contained many caves where the lions lived, quite a few having their own specific caves. Maska met the prince of the pride, Mansa, whom she fell in love with. Mansa also loved Maska, and eventually chose her as his queen when the previous queen, his mother Zalika, chose to retire and let her eldest son take over.

Maska was a leader of the pride's hunting team until she was going to have her first cub. After that, she was no longer a leader of the team.

Maska's first cub was Desemba, a son. He was to become king after Mansa. Later, Maska had more cubs: Dhahabu, Munira, the twins Joto and Sabaya, and the twins Kaleb and Ziada.

One day, Maska's cubs found five other cubs in the canyon, who had been left there by their parents, rogues who had feared they were unable to feed their cubs anymore. These cubs were Nyara, Korongo, Siri, Ndoto, and Unataka. Maska allowed the cubs to stay, not realizing that they were her own nieces and nephew, the cubs of her brother Ni. Maska let a lioness named Angalia and her husband adopt the cubs.

Maska did not realize that her brother Ni was actually roaming around the borders of the Canyon Pride, sometimes even entering its territory. Maska also did not know that all of her children, along with some of the other cubs, would visit Ni, whom they only knew to be a rogue, and would speak with him, with some of them even playing with him.

When Maska's cubs were adults, Ni revealed himself to the pride, and explained that he was the father of Angalia's adopted cubs. Ni was welcomed into the pride, and Maska was glad to have her brother with her again.
