Personality: Mchumba is well known to be a kind lioness with a huge heart, and when she cares for someone, she does everything in her power to provide for them and show them her love. With her mother as her role model, Mchumba ensures that she cares for others and treats them how she'd want to be treated, and it's no secret that she usually has good intentions. Sometimes, however, she has a hard time showing this kindness; growing up sheltered by her parents, Mchumba finds it hard to speak with strangers and make friends, and often times her attempts at small talk come across as awkward. She's a bit clueless when it comes to social interaction, and though she genuinely wants to make friends, she's not too sure how to go about it. But Mchumba's curiosity never ceases to fail her, and she loves learning about others and different situations. She has an intense love for adventure and travel, and her independent nature only aids this passion; she's not too fond of being bossed around and being tied down when all she wants to do is be free to make her own choices. But sometimes these choices aren't so well thought out; Mchumba can be quite impulsive, letting her emotions get the better of her, and she has a hard time considering the consequences until it's too late. Often times she's too cowardly and afraid to face her decisions, and so she pushes them down and tries to hide them.

History:

Mchumba was born into a small group of lions who had set out from their home pride. Mchumba's father, their leader, was intent on starting his own pride, but as time passed and they gained neither members nor territory, they were left to be a nomadic pride, consisting of Mchumba's parents and another lioness. The going was rather tough, and though Mchumba's birth was a time of celebration, it was also one of mourning; of the litter, Mchumba was the only one to survive, and because of this, they treated her like a princess. Mchumba's mother was already deeply in love with her little daughter and she showered her in affection and attention. Mchumba's father was much more closed off, however; he behaved a bit more coldly, but he was never harsh or cruel, just strict. Though she was the only cub in their little pride, Mchumba knew she was well loved, and in her early cubhood, found many things to do with her time.

As she grew into an older cub however, she soon became bored with their usual activities, and she longed for playmates her age. When they passed other prides, she wished to play with the cubs, but her parents absolutely refused, worried it would be dangerous. Even though she wanted to make friends, she didn't dare disobey her parents, and so she grew with just her parents and the other lioness. In her teen years, as she began to master hunting, Mchumba's mother became sick. At first they didn't worry too much, thinking it would resolve itself on its own, but as time went on and her mother only got worse, panic began to set in. They couldn't figure out the cause of the ailment, and their knowledge of herbs was so small, they didn't know what to give her to help.

Her mother managed to hold onto her life until Mchumba had just barely become a young adult when she passed away from the illness. Mchumba was absolutely devastated, and for days after she refused to leave her mother's body. Eventually, her father convinced her to give her mother a proper burial, and the pride continued their traveling, even if Mchumba still wasn't over her mother. Only weeks after her mother's death, she found out that her father had already moved on to the other lioness in the pride and she was expecting his cubs. Absolutely crushed, Mchumba confronted him in a huge argument; she felt he'd betrayed her mother by immediately becoming mates with the other lioness, while her father believed it was for the good of the pride. Outraged and hurt, Mchumba ran away from her father and didn't look back.

For months on end she traveled alone as a rogue, regretting her decision to leave but too scared to go back and face her father after everything that had happened. Instead she continued her travels and eventually, as the dry season picked up, she decided she should find a pride, something she'd secretly always wanted. After searching and coming up short, she found herself in the Pridelands, where she encountered a male lion named Scarabir on patrol. Their first interaction wasn't exactly the best; he was suspicious of her, naturally, and her attempts at befriending him only made her seem more suspicious. After the encounter, Mchumba decided to stay just outside the Pridelands to rest for a few days, and she began to encounter Scarabir more and more. She made sure to stay out of his territory, and though she found it a little awkward to talk to a stranger, she did her best so she could learn more about the Pridelands Pride.

Over time, they slowly became friends, and finally, Mchumba asked to meet Queen Kiara and Prince Consort Kovu. After meeting with them and presenting herself as no threat, Queen Kiara allowed her to stay with the pride. The transition, however, wasn't as smooth as Mchumba would've liked; since she'd never learned to speak with strangers, she had a hard time fitting in and making conversation with the other lionesses. Things weren't all bad, however; Scarabir spoke with her more and more often now, and as time went on, he became her best friend in the pride. She opened up her past to him, and while he believed she should forget her father and leave him in the past, Mchumba slowly realized that she needed to apologize. Even though she disagreed with him, and he her, he was still the father that had raised her.

As time passed, she realized she had feelings for Scarabir, and decided to confess them to him. He accepted and returned her feelings, and the two quickly became mates. Mchumba then decided that pride life wasn't for her, as she'd still made little progress with the others, and proposed to Scarabir that they begin traveling as rogues to explore the world and hopefully find her father. Having already known she was thinking of leaving the pride, Scarabir agreed, and the two set out to become rogues and find Mchumba's father. While traveling, Mchumba was delighted to find she was expecting cubs, and the couple were excited to grow their little family with one another.

Relation to TLK: Her mate is the son of Sarabi and Scar, has met Kovu and Kiara and used to live in the Pridelands.
