History: Adunbi was born early in the morning to a small pride that made their home near a jungle oasis. His mother was a regular huntress who had mated with a rogue. The rogue left soon after the cub’s birth. Adunbi’s mother wished her only cub had a father to care for him, but like many other lionesses in her situation, there was nothing she could do now to bring him back. She said nothing about the cub’s father to the rest of the pride, and for the most part she was left alone. Adunbi’s earliest memories were those of the oasis, nursing from his mother near a river or in the shade of a gigantic tree. Another early memory of his was making his mother smile or giggle, and he would strive to make others smile for the rest of his life. Adunbi grew up with many friends and companions of all different shapes and sizes in the jungle, and one of his closest friends was a bold little leopard cub named Yafeu. Yafeu was a major influence on his friend. He did all sorts of funny, crazy things and the two got into lots of trouble growing up. Yafeu never took anything too seriously, and encouraged his friend to live his life fully. Adunbi took these words to heart, and the two made a promise that they would do so for the rest of their lives. As the two friends grew into teens, they reluctantly had to start taking on more responsibilities. Yafeu and Adunbi had less and less time to spend with each other those days and they drifted apart and each went their own way. But Adunbi remembered his promise to life his life fully, and did his best to honor that promise for his friend. Finally the day came when Adunbi was cast out of his birth pride, another couple of males with him. The three young lions tried to get along at first, but soon discovered that none of them had anything in common. They were stuck with each other, and that was that. It was hard for Adunbi, being away from his home and his mother, and knowing that it was unlikely he’d ever see Yafeu again. Even worse, he was stuck with two strangers he didn’t even like or have anything in common with. He began to feel like all joy was being taken away from him, and for the first time in his life he fell into a depression. Even though they didn’t really get along, the two other lions felt sorry for Adunbi and made an effort to try and cheer him up. Adunbi was surprised and touched by this gesture, making him feel a little better. No one could say how, when or why, but the three began to tolerate each other and soon become friends. The three new now spent much less time disagreeing and fighting and more time sharpening their survival skills, or just making each other laugh. For the first time since he had left home, Adunbi didn’t feel so much alone anymore. The trio spent a lot of their time traveling from place to place, seeing many new people and places. One of the most exciting places they came across was the Pride Lands. They spent a few days hanging around the borders, until a large dark lion came to drive them off. A few other lionesses were there with him, and one of them was a beautiful light brown lioness with blue eyes who Adunbi immediately took a shine to. The three promised no harm and swore their loyalty to the king, and they were allowed to stay. Adunbi met the beautiful lioness again later on, and she introduced herself as Adia. For Adunbi, it was love at first sight. He was always hanging around and trying to impress her. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes not. Adia herself began to like him, and soon she found she was in love with him. She liked that he never took himself or anything else too seriously, and he had a natural gift for making her laugh. The two confessed their love and became mates, and now they are expecting their first cub, Zalika.
