Story: Born in the Pridelands during the reign of Scar, with her twin brother Mheetu. Her mother was cubsitter Sarafina, her father King Scar. Since being a female, and her brother being 'weak' her father rejected calling them his cubs.

Itanya grew up alongside alot of cubs, and her friends being her brother, Nala (her older sister), Tama, Tojo, Chumvi, and Kula. Her favorite spare time activity, if she wasn't with her mother or trapped in the cave, then she would spend her time going for long walks around the Pridelands. She would go as far as the waterhole, maybe even further. She couldn't go outside of the Pridelands due to the fact the borders were patrolled by her father's minions, the hyenas.

Sometimes Itanya would try and please her father, after all she was his daughter. But she would be told to go away and bother someone else. This annoyed Itanya very much.

As a teen, she grew alot more protective of Mheetu, because of her father acting strange around Tojo and Chumvi, and how they had ran off because of the dangers of Scar and the other males in the pride. Her father wasn't happy about other males. Itanya hoped he wouldn't get rid of her brother. Then before she knew it her brother had run away out of fear of being murdered. Her mother was upset, but happy. So was Itanya. But she wanted to go with Mheetu so bad. She missed him.

She started to think of leaving, but that was when a young lion named Simba challenged Scar, and had threw him off Pride Rock. The hyenas killed her father; and Simba became king. Her mother explained about Scar having a brother called Mufasa- and that her father had killed him to get the throne. Sarafina then told Itanya that Simba was the son of Mufasa, and rightful heir to the throne.
