Personality; Unlike his big brother Hakim,Zaire is quite the bully. He's cocky and very selfish.He's a confident boy and won't usually say he's afraid.As a cub,he's more playful and carefree,so nobody really minded.He demanded attention,and as a cub,it was given to him all the time.Because of course,he was just a cub,who wouldn't love an adorable little cub like that? Well,this turned Zaire into an arrogant lion as he got older.The attention level he was getting dropped dramatically and he didn't like it.He started to bully the other lions,mainly the younger ones but he wasn't at all afraid to go against the older ones. He also started hitting on the lionesses,and even though they showed no interest in him,he continued to annoy and flirt with every lioness he could see.This spread quickly through the pride and everyone became cold towards him,viewing him as just a bully.Zaire didn't care about this,he was the son of a King after all,he deserved attention and special treatment.The idea of being a Prince got to his head and he abused his title. Others often wonder if him and Hakim were related at all.

History;

As if the first cub between them wasn't enough,Asali and Simba had two more cubs,twins. Just like before,Asali and Simba were both delighted by the birth and especially by having twins.They were both happy and healthy cubs,one male and one female.The female was the middle child and the male was the youngest. Simba and Asali both decided that the female would be named Shideh,and the male Zaire.The Pride were all happy with the birth of the new cubs,all except Nala of course but as before she could do nothing.Simba,was the king.She was just his 'favorite lioness'. 

The twins proved to be complete opposites of their big brother Hakim. While Shideh was just rude and cheeky,Zaire was attention seeking and sassy.The young lion had to have everything his way,or he'd cause a tantrum.He had a bit of an anger problem it seemed so the pride was careful with what they did.But during the early stages of the boys cubhood,they made the wrong choice of spoiling him and showing him a lot of attention.Growing up,Zaire expected everyone to love him and only have eyes on him.He thought this was just the way life was. But of course,he was totally wrong. 

And so,when he became a young adult,he was at first confused as to why all the attention suddenly stopped.It was a little hurtful,to suddenly be 'one of the common lions' in the pride.He was a Prince and he should be treated like one! The confusion and hurt turned into anger. He took out his anger on some poor unfortunate lion who crossed his path. After this,he thought it felt good to make others fear him.If they weren't going to show him kindness and affection,he'll show them what they are missing,and make them pay for it.

He started to bully all the lions and lionesses of the Pride behind his parents' backs.He warned all of them not to say one word to them,or he'll kill them all. Too afraid of what the young lion was capable of,they obeyed,and kept as quiet as church mice.This pleased Zaire,and the bullying got even worse.As he grew into an adult,things didn't change much. 

Now,despite all of this,Zaire is quite protective of his sister Shideh. She's always been his best friend and the closest family member to him.He would,most defiantly,kill anyone who hurt her. She thought like him,and that's why the two got along so well.When Shideh started to mess with Kiara's mate,Kovu,Zaire watched and made sure no harm came to her. He was even prepared to kill his half siblings to protect her if it came down to it.

However close he was to Shideh,he was certainly not close his big brother Hakim.In fact,Zaire and Shideh despised their older brother. Unlike them,Hakim was a gentle and kind lion.He was respected greatly,and the twins didn't like this at all.They were jealous of Hakim,and really didn't want him around.When Hakim tried telling Shideh to settle down and stop messing with Kiara's mate,Shideh snapped at him and Zaire backed her up.They told him to get lost and stop being a goody-two-shoes. They didn't realize how badly they hurt him.

The twins soon regretted it when Hakim suddenly left the Pridelands.They blamed themselves and felt horribly bad. To make things worse,Shideh found out she was pregnant with Kovu's cubs. Zaire was angry at this,he didn't want his sister to have his cubs.It was disgraceful! And so,the Pridelander went up against the Outlander. Things... went bad though. Kiara was confused at why Zaire attacked Kovu,and in her mate's defense she attacked Zaire to hold him back. A slip of the claw happened and Kiara was killed. Zaire was horrified,the blood was on his claws. In a rage,Kovu also attacked Zaire and easily beat him. He didn't kill him though,simply because he was Shideh's beloved brother,and he couldn't upset his 'secret' love. 

In the end,Zaire was permanantly banished from the Pridelands due to murder and treason. Not wanting to cause anymore trouble,the young lion left the Pridelands. He searched for the brother he had already hurt,wanting some comfort in his time of despair. He wondered if his parents could ever forgive him. Probably not,especially not his own father.

The lion roamed the lands,in search of a new life,a new start.
