Hasani grew up in a Savannah far away from the Pridelands, when his parents died; Hasani couldn't live in such a open, unsafe area. He knew what he wanted, a home; a family. He began his journey at age 17 (in human years). 

Along the way (at age 18 in human years) he met Kiara (his now ex-mate mate). Kiara was depressed because she  broke up with Kovu after continuous disrespect to her. He met her when
she was trapped in yet another fire, and saved her. They fell happily in love and became mates. Kiara was finally appreciated, without Hasani; she would still be unhappy.

Though, after a year of love, compassion and appreciation.. Kiara found out Hasani was cheating on her with 2 other lionesses, so they broke up and Hasani left.
