History: Imara and his twin, Oseye, were the last cubs born of King Maideyi and his favourite female, Nasra, before the arrival of Chumvi and Tojo.

By this point, Maideyi was an old lion and so was easily bested by Chumvi and Tojo. Rather than killing the young cubs they found, as many of the lionesses thought they would, they allowed them to live and decided that they will allow Imara to take the throne as their heir. The two lions thought the lionesses would resent them less if they took one of their own as heir rather than giving the position to one of their own cubs.

As Imara grew up, Chumvi and Tojo set about trying to impart as much knowledge about ruling as they could (more Tojo than Chumvi due to his previous life as a prince). Imara seemed to show some aptitude for ruling and everyone was hopeful for him taking the throne. Eventually, Chumvi and Tojo decided that Imara would need a Queen and so they would have to find a lioness to betroth to him.

Chumvi and Tojo went to the Pridelands, hoping that their friendship with Simba would mean that it would be easier to find a betrothed for Imara. Simba, eing generous, decided to let the two have the pick of any young lioness in the pride so long as it wasn't his then teenage daughter, Kiara. Eventually, they were approached by a lioness introducing herself as Nyaka who claimed her daughter, who had apparently been betrothed to Tanabi before his unfortunate death, was available for other betrothals and that she knew what it took to be queen.

After much consideration, Chumvi and Tojo both agreed that Nyaka's daughter, Kirījah, would be a good choice. Simba must have had a good reason to betroth her to his son, afterall. So, Nyaka and Kirījah were taken back to the Mzuka Pride and the marriage between Kirījah and Imara occurred not long afterward.

This is when things went downhill fast.

Shortly after Imara's temporary ascention to the throne, Chumvi and Tojo both fell very ill very fast. No matter what, it seemed that there was no cure for what ailed them, despite the best work of the lionesses within the pride. Imara and Kirījah had to step up as both the pride's leaders were unable to rule.

Unknown to everyone, the months that Kirījah had been in the Mzuka Pride had been put to good use by making Imara unquestionably loyal to her out of fear. Due to the fact that he wasn't very confronational, Imara let Kirījah dictate a lot of what went on in the pride. Effectively, Kirījah was the true ruler of the pride and whenever Imara spoke up about something she quickly and brutally put him back down again, making sure that he knew that he answered to her and not the other way around. Kirījah would sometimes follow this up with violence and Imara never lifted a paw to stop her, Chumvi and Tojo had taught him better than to strike a lioness, especially his mate and the mother of his cubs.

Eventually, Kirījah managed to get pregnant with Imara's cubs and by now the pride was highly suspicious of her. They believe that she may have had something to do with Chumvi and Tojo's sudden illness (as both lions were ill enough that they couldn't rule effectively but healthy enough that they weren't at risk of dying). Imara's twin, Oseye, and his mother, Nasra, begin to investigate Kirījah despite Imara's protests not to as he is afraid that Kirījah will think he's trying to ursurp her power and punish him more brutally than ever before.

So, while his mate births two daughters, one of them WHITE of all things and his mother and sister go about trying to find a way to oust Kirījah, Imara sits in fear and waits for everything to come crashing down around him.
