Personality: Leon is very responsible and smart. He knows right from wrong and is a great listener. He isn't very adventurous but a loyal friend who would do anything for the good of others. Leon is protective over his sister and likes making her smile. He always thinks before acting and is a great leader, who inspires others.

Likes: The Pride Lands, Playing with his sister, Stories, Stargazing, and Helping others

Dislikes: Hyenas, Kanu, Not knowing where his sister is, and failure

History: Leon was the first cub of Kiara and Kovu's twins. He looks more like his mother and grandfather Simba but with some recognizable characteristics from his father. 

As a cub, Leon was different than the others. He always listened to his parents and did not want to get into trouble. He was often the voice of reason amongst the other cubs. Leon and his twin sister, Shani, were very close growing up, despite the fact that they two were opposites. Shani was very adventerous and outgoing, unlike Leon.  Still, the two never left each other's side and rarely ever argued. Kiara and Kovu were very proud of their cubs for getting along and caring for each other so well. However, they knew that the two cubs could not share a crown like they did with everything else. It seemed fitting that Leon would become king but Kiara and Kovu decided to train both of their cubs of ruling their kingdom. Leon and Shani didn't mind and, for a while, didn't even notice. 

Then, one day, Leon met a female cub named Hasnaa. The two immediately became friends and Hasnaa was so outspoken but also sweet and kind, Leon could not help but develop a crush on her. Hasnaa and Leon hung out more and they were very happy together. 

Then, Leon grew into a handsome teenager. He didn't change much, but Shani did. She became more wild and always had her head in the clouds. One day, Leon and Hasnaa went out for a late walk. There, Hasnaa began to return the feelings for Leon. Meanwhile, Shani had wandered off a bit too far out of the Pride Lands and was attacked by hyenas. She was able to fight them off but still returned with injuries. After that, Leon did not want to leave Shani alone but she did not agree with the idea. Shani had desperately wanted to leave the Pride Lands and go off to travel. 

Leon and Shani became young adults and that's when Shani really did leave. She only spoke to Kovu about her plans on going out but never confirmed she was going to go through with it. Leon was very upset and missed his sister dearly. He became king of the Pride Lands but was very afraid of failing. Hasnaa became his queen but not even she could help him. Many in the pride no longer thought Leon could handle the stress, but that only made Leon fear even more. He did not want anyone to hate him. Then, Shani had finally returned. However, she was not along. Shani came back with a male friend, named Kgosi. It was clear the two were very fond of each other and Leon had to take on the role of that over protective brother. 

It was not known that Kgosi was the son of Kanu, a lion that Simba had banned years ago, until Kanu decided to get his revenge on the royal family. He attacked Shani and, being her brother, Leon immediately protected her. Kgosi and Leon worked together to rid the Pride Lands of Kanu once and for all. Leon and Kgosi finally became friends and Leon let Kgosi into the family. 

Leon remained king and, with his sister by his side, there was nothing left to fear. Shani helped Leon rule the Pride Lands and the two created a peaceful kingdom.
