Personality: Kanu can be very bitter and is able to hold a grudge for a long time. He believes in equality for all and feels sympathy for those who have been wronged before. He can get very jealous and acts quickly without thinking of effecting others. Kanu is not known for his physical strength but for his intelligent mind.

History: Kanu was born to rogue parents, never belonging to one pride. His father left after his birth, leaving Kanu with only his mother. Kanu's mother was an excellent provider but never emotionally connected with her only son. She taught him how to survive and be strong then, one night, she left Kanu in the middle of no where. 

Kanu was only a cub when he was abandoned. He was lost and scared. He tried searching for his mother but she seemed to have vanished, so he wandered from place to place in order to survive. Kanu learned many techniques of extreme survival from his mother and he had to give up the idea of her returning. Kanu was on his own for months until he ran into the Pride Lands. He followed the scent of food and ran into one of the lionesses. The nice lioness gave Kanu some food and let him stay in the Pride Lands. Simba could not refuse the weak and starving cub a place to stay so he welcomed Kanu into the Pride Lands. Kanu was cared for by the lionesses as a group effort. However, Kanu did not get along with the other cubs. Many of them constantly hazed him. There was one, named Aricin, who seemed to be trying to befriend Kanu but, when around others, Aricin went along with whatever his friends did, including reject Kanu. 

Time went by, and Kanu grew older but he did not forget. He refused to let it go and he became very jealous of Aricin's success. He vowed to do whatever it took to ruin Aricin's life. So, when Aricin found himself a girlfriend, named Kamaria, Kanu created a plan. He told Kamaria that there was a gift waiting for her by Aricin in the plains and he was supposed to lead her there. At this time, the Out Landers and Pride Landers were constantly at each other's throats. So, Kanu led the innocent Kamaria into Out Lander territory. He abandoned her, allowing the Out  Landers to attack. Kanu watched proudly as his almsot perfect plan. However, Aricin was near by on his morning walks and heard Kamaria's scream. He raced into action. Aricin managed to save Kamaria from the vicious Out Landers. Kanu's plan was ruined. Aricin and Kamaria were safe. 

When Simba learned that Kanu was responsible, he was furious. Kanu was banished from the Pride Lands but he vowed revenge. Then, he met a female named Duni. She was even more innocent than Kamaria so he tricked her into thinking he was the good guy. They later had a cub of their own, named Kgosi. Kanu was very controlling and Duni was powerless to stop him as he used their only son to get his revenge on the royal family.
