Bio:
Not long after Kopa's return, Nala found herself with child again, but wanted to keep it a secret from her husband as long as possible. She would drop hints, but Simba was blind to her condition; whether it was excitement from his son's return or just plain idiosy, Nala never found out. The day she planned to tell him though was a day of ultimate tragedy, as Iba, Kopa's friend and saviour, had run off with Kiara, and killed Simba when he went after his daughter. The kingdom was distraught, but none more than Nala.
Because of the strife affiliated with Nala's pregnancy, coupled with her age, the birthing was a difficult one. Many thought that the former Queen would be killed, but she lived on, and would let none, not even Kopa, see her newborn son. She guarded the boy with maddening effort, and only when his eyes were open did she present him to the kingdom.
Adhumita made a great many friends throughout the pride, and played with his nephews and nieces, King Kopa's cubs, as often as he could. He also enjoyed the company of his brother, and the Queen Baridi, and slep with them beside the prince and princesses most nights. This joy was short lived though, as Nala soon forbade him from seeing the rest of his family. She'd taken to snapping at him and scolding him for no reason, and many said it was her grief that had sent her made. The truth was, she was a little cranky from another pregnancy, and this one, the Mandrill Shaman said, was certain to kill her. Adhumita ended up hating Kovu for that, as he was the father of Nala's litter, and it was his fault she was at such a risk of dying.
And as the Mandrills foretold, Nala died birthing a son, Kivuli, and a daughter, Jivu.
Adhumita was distraught, and tried to attacke Kovu there and then, but his niece Nusura was the one to restrain him. She convinced him to leave, take a breath of fresh air, and return when he'd calmed down, and he did just that, but as he left, he saw the dark looks Kovu gave him, and made the painful descision to leave. He almost took Nusura with him, but she changed her mind at the last second, telling him that her duty was in the Pridelands, helping the deaf princess Anasikia. Adhumita found no fault with that, and so he ventured out on his own.
He did a poor job of the rogue lifestyle, and proved to be a messy hunter at best. He soon fell ill from food deprivation, and was even driven from the water hole by another group of males whp'd taken it over. Certain he was die, he found a cool cave and let himself drift. He woke in a different cave with a strange male leaning over him, emerald eyes gleaming. He watched the youngster with great interest, and offered him food and water, as well as some herbs for the disease he'd contracted. The male was of middle-age, nearing elderly, but he didn't have the same look about him as the males at the water hole. No, the only thing Adhumita could find in his eyes was recognition, and some small affection.
The lion introduced himself as Siri, firstborn son of Simba and Nala, and told Adhumita he'd been watching out for him since his birth. Nala had told him of her newest son, and Siri had taken an interest, always hiding near Pride Rock to watch him play. Adhumita's older brother saw him as a surrogate son, and vowed to protect him. At this, Adhumita was startled, but was glad of the companionship that came with Siri's protection.
He matured and became a strong young adult, and learned how to hunt properly. Siri was a good teacher, having lived in the wild since a few days after his birth. The bond between the two brothers was strong, but it was torn the day Adhumita fell in love.
He was walking by the river when he saw her, wounded and alone. He saw that she'd lost a lot of blood, and her eyes had been scratched beyond repair. Without thinking, he picked her up, and took her to the cave, where Siri dressed her wounds. He suggested caution; whatever was hunting her, may as well be hunting them as well. Adhumita ignored his brother, and tended to the youngster with great care. When she woke, she was extremely grateful, but deeply wounded that she'd lost her sight. With Adhumita's help, she regained her confidence, and introduced herself as Lešôkô, and told the pair that she was running from Katili, the leader of a pride that supported Kiara. She'd been sentenced to death for speaking out against Kiara, and had run away in the night. Her pursuers had found her though, and she'd paid the price dearly.
Adhumita was in awe of her, but Siri was disgusted with him. Katili was a sworn enemy of the Crown, and making an enemy of her would be treacherous, let alone becoming mates with one of her followers. The old lion told his Adhumita of his worries, but the youngster shrugged it off. At this, Siri was most annoyed, but he allowed Adhumita to play the fool.
A few days later though, Adhumita was the one paying the price. Katili's followers found their home, and when Adhumita returned from a walk with Lešôkô, he found his brother's body torn and mangled, nearly beyond recognition. Distraught, Adhumita was forced to leave, but Katili's followers were never far behind, eager to carry out the sentence and end Lešôkô once and for all. Adhumita was aware of his pursuers, but the one thing he didn't know, was that Lešôkô wasn't all she seemed to be...
