Story: Jina is Max's younger sister. She never gets to know her parents better, as they left the colony only a few weeks after her birth. Max, a young adult at the time, decides to raise Jina in his own, becoming really over-protective of Jina, never letting her wander too far of the colony and, sometimes, not even out of the tunnels. As Jina grows older, she gets sick of her older brother not letting her be free and often argues with him.
Jina, sick of digging and hiding, leaves the colony during a rainy night, when everyone was asleep. Even if it was cold out there, and even knowing she could not make it to the next day, she left, without looking back. But as cold as it was, Jina was enjoying the rain, as if it was wishing her good luck. The next morning, Jina was exhausted. But she couldn't go back. Getting all the energy she had left, Jina keept walking foward, without knowing what she would face next.
Days pass by and Jina has already settled into her nomadic life, staying in abandoned dens only for a few days, then leaving to explore, hunt and find a new den. During one of her journeys to find a new den, Jina noticed she was being watched and followed. When her follower gets distracted, she attacks it, only to find out it was a male meerkat, around her age. She tells him to get lost and leaves, but he continues to follow her everywhere, until she finally gives up and lets him stay with her. As soon as he is by her side, Jina asks for his name, and he introduces himself as Aibu.
Jina and Aibu start to get along, developing deeper feelings for eachother. And as much as he dislikes how serious she is, he admires her bravery and courage. About a month after traveling, always jumping from den to den, Jina decides it would be better if they stayed in a den where they could call their own at least for once.
It didn't take long until Jina had pups of her own. Identical twins. As much as she hated staying in the den most of the time, she liked having someone that, at least for once, wasn't so overprotective of her. When the pups are old enough to go outside, Jina immediatelly takes them out to explore, but always keeping an eye on them.
During one of her walks with her pups and Aibu, Jina spots two lionesses. It wasn't long until the lionesses spotted her and her family as well. She tells Aibu and the pups to run back to the den. Aibu nudged the pups back to the den quickly, but as he turns around to go back, Jina tells him to get in the den. Before he even could ask why, she pushed him on the den and told him to run away with the pups as soon as the lionesses were far away.
Jina gave Aibu and her pups enough time to run to a safe distance, but paid with her own life.
Relation to TLK: Max's younger sister.
Other: Jina is based off a character I created in Lif Serengeti. Her name literally means "Name", since I couldn't think of anything else to translate to swahilli at the moment. I thought of changing her name, but I liked how it sounded.
