Name: Kinaya (meaning 'whole' or 'complete')
Siblings: Obi, Aida, Takata and Tale
Mate: None
Cubs: None:
Pride of Origin: Bahari
Personality: Kinaya is a cub who is both barely considered and at the forefront of everyone's mind. She is a quiet girl, much like her elder sister, but her lack of voice is because of meekness rather than a lack of voice. She keeps her head down and tries her best to blend into the background but no one will simply let her do so. Some days she wants to lash out and throw tantrums because of how she is treated but Naanda's memory always surfaces and the young princess keeps her mouth firmly shut.
History: Kinaya is the second cub of Adla's final litter and her birth in particular caused a bit of stir for the pride. Takata, being the eldest, got a lot of attention early on and so no one really took a hard look at the other cubs...and then everyone noticed Kinaya.
Despite her youth, everyone could see the uncanny resemblance she had to the deceased Naanda, the lioness who had attempted to murder her mother and her siblings when they were still in the womb. Some pride members saw this as a sign and were wary of the newborn because the memory of the crazed lioness was still very very fresh in their minds. Kamaji and Adla tried their best not to listen to the gossiping of the pride but they couldn't deny the resemblance in their youngest daughter's face.
As Kinaya grew older, she continued to be hounded by Naanda's ghost. The pride kept a watchful eye on the cub and despite her personality being an almost polar opposite to the lioness she resembled, they continued to keep their gazes on her. After all, hadn't Naanda once been a cub and everyone had assumed nothing of her? Who was to say that the same madness didn't lurk in Kinaya?
One of the few people able to look past this is her elder brother, Obi, and it's to him that Kinaya clings to. She wants so desperately to be normal and he is one of the few that treat her as such.

Awww, poor baby! I just want to hug her and squeeze her and never let
her go. Yeah, she does resemble Naanda somewhat, but that doesn't mean
she's going to end up like she did. They're doing more harm than good
by ostracizing her for that =/ THANKS NAMA, I'M GOING TO WEEP OVER
THIS GIRL NOW. |
