Story: Mchumba was born in a small pride far from the Pride lands. The pride had very poor conditions, and there was very little food, so Mchumba's parents decided it was better for their son to send him away, to a place that could provide him enough food and a place to grow up in peace. He was very little when he was taken to a near by pride, lead by his uncle. His uncle Ramses took him under his wing and raised him as his own son. When Mchumba reached his teens, he started feeling his true nature calling and decided to start his own life and adventure. He said goodbye to his adoptive father and his foster pride, and then set out to the savannah to find his true place. Mchumba travelled many miles, and after reaching adulthood, he finally settled to a small territory near the jungle. He lived there as a happy bachelor for quite a while, and life was good. One day, he stumbeled upon a young cub who had accidentally wandered too far from her mother. Mchumba offered to help her find her way back home, and so the two set off their way. Suddenly, Mchumba was lunged at by a beige lioness who roared and pinned him down, insisting that he'd get away from her daughter. Mchumba tried to explain that he had no intensions of hurting the cub, instead he was going to bring her home. The lioness calmed down, got off him and apologized, and then they all introdiced themselves. Mchumba learned that the older lionesse's name was Odette, and her daughter was named Johari. Mchumba and Odette chatted for a bit, until they were interrupted by Johari who insisted her mother that they returned home, as it was getting dark. The lionesses left, and Mchumba found himself looking after Odette, with a smile and a raised eyebrow, then he too retireded into his den and settled in for the night. But instead of getting much sleep, the lion's mind wandered somewhere else, for he couldn't forget about the encounter with the beige lioness. Couple of days passed, and he met them again at a drinking hole, much to his pleasant surprise. After talking with Odette for a while, Mchumba couldn't help but notice that Johari was very reserved and doubtful around him, but Odette explained to him that it wasn't anything personal, just had something to do with what happened to Johari that had made her suspicios about strangers and especially rouge males, such as Mchumba. He understood it quite well, and he figured he'd try to get the young cub to trust him, but no matter what he did, it didn't seem to be enough, and Johari was always reluctant and careful around him. This was a shame, since Mchumba had really taken a liking to Odette, and the two had actually started developing a friendship. One day, sadly, Odette approached him and told him that she didn't think it was a good idea that they saw each other anymore, and that she needed to think what was good for her daughter. This of course dissapointed Mchumba, but he understood Odette, so, without saying anything except good bye, he left, without looking back. But just as he was heading back to his den, head down and heart broken, he stopped in his tracks as he heard loud roaring, cries for help and immidietally regocnized them as the voices of Odette and Johari. As he turned around, to his horror Mchumba saw a large rogue male chasing them, he growled and ran after them. When the rogue had Odette and Johari trapped, Mchumba lunged at the male twice his size, fought him and told the lionesses to flee and not look back. The males fought a fierce fight, and the only thing in Mchumba's mind was to protect Odette and Johari. Finally, the battle ended, and the good knews was that Mchumba had won, and his opponent gave up and ran away - but the bad news was that he was badly wounded. He soon saw Odette on a hill little further ahead, his vision blurred, and the last thing he saw was her running towards him, then he collapsed to the ground unconscious. When he awoke some time later, Mchumba saw a blurry, familiar face looking down on him, and as his vision cleared, he saw that it was Odette, who had brought him to their den. She nudged his cheek gently, and couldn't express how thankful she was for saving their lives. Odette insisted that he stayed with them until his wounds had healed, and from this moment on things took a turn for the better for all three of them, and even Johari had now started to trust the male more. But Mchumba still couldn't help that his feelings for Odette were getting even stronger. Eventually, though, she confessed to him that she felt the way he did, and they became mates, and Johari even got used to the idea, even though Mchumba and her still had some arguments from time to time, but he decided to be the best possible father figure for the cub he could.
