When he was a teenager all the other cubs except Nala left the pridelands, Sefu stayed in case he broke his mothers heart.

When Sefu was a young adult Nala left the pridelands in search of help. She found help, Sefu's half brother Simba. Simba fought Scar and won. Simba toke over the Pridelands and the Pridelands returned to its former beauty. Sefu thought Simba wouldn't accept him because of Sefu's father. But Simba accepted him with open arms.
