Personality: Huruma is a loner at heart, and would much rather devote himself to studying than chasing down a helpless antelope. He is, however, very close to his sister, and is always a shoulder to cry on.

Bio:

Huruma is the first cub of Malaika and Ndege. His father is overjoyed at his birth, and will spend much time with him.

He grows up mostly in the company of other males, who tease him for his wish to study and his desire for knowledge. They are good fun, but he craves for the company of another cub, someone to be his best friend.

When he is a young teen, his mother finds herself with a cub again. He is overjoyed when she goes into birthing, but is torn when his mother dies giving birth to Nyonda, his little sister. Sheria, his sensible, stern aunt, whisks up the newborn and suckles her alongside Aminifu, her own daughter. Huruma visits Nyonda often and plays with her, and when she is older, he acts as her bodyguard, standing with her always to protect her from the other cubs. 

Life continues on this way, but one day, while he is stood by the waterfall, he meets another cub, Asha, who he befriends, despite his tendency to keep away from others. They become very close, and Huruma begins to feel much more than just friendly affection for her.

When he is an older adult, and Nyonda and Aminifu are teens, Huruma leaves the territory to live alone with Asha, in a small cave by the border. He studies there, in quiet contemplation, and will occasionally visit Nyonda to see how she fares. He and Asha are now mate, and prefer the life of solitude to one of great commotion.

He dies on one journey to visit his sister, after a rogue tears him apart without provocation.
