Personality: Madi is very shy and demure, and also very manipulatable. Her timidness makes her an easy target for those wishing to control her, which also causes her to be very insecure. However, she will open up to close friends and lions she is close to. She also loves cubs, and will go out of her way to play with them and make them happy.

Madi is born to a rogue pair out in the wilds, and knows she will never be anything special. She enjoys her life though, and spends a lot of time with her father, who stays a while after her birth so that she can at least know him before he leaves to carry on his life.

When she is a teen, her mother casts her out, abandoning her. She is very hurt at this, but decides not to dwell on it, and she sets about travelling.

Her life is a good one, until she comes across the Sentinel Valley and is confronted by one of their three leaders. His intentions are clear; he wishes to take her back to the pride and take her as his own, but she won't let that happen. She claws at him and runs, afraid. He retreats and she never sees his face again, until she meets two young rogues.

The first one she sees is a grey-furred lion, with a dark mane and red eyes. He is friendly and greets her.

Then his friend arrives.

He is the most handsome lion Madi has ever seen. He is as dark as his companion, with startling blue eyes and a bulky frame. He is Mwokozi, and Madi had fallen in love.

She introduces herself, and tells them about the Sentinels and their leaders. They consider her words, and tell her that they wish to challenge them, if there are as bad as she claims. She tells them that they are arrogant, but they will rise to any rogues who wish to overthrow them. When the two friends go to the pride to challenge the leaders, she feels deep regret for getting them into this.

They survive the onslaught and become the new leaders of the pride, but not without cost. Mwokozi has been severely wounded, and many believe he will die. But the healers of the pride manage to save his life, and Madi is overjoyed.

She goes to Mwokozi, summons up all of her courage and asks to be his mate. He agrees, and they spend many nights alone together. Her life is complete; she has a mate who loves her, and it is most likely a cub will be born from the union.

But then Nuka asks her the same question she asked Mwokozi.

She goes to her mate, asking his advice. He tells her that she should agree to be mated with Nuka, for he knows that she is close to them both and that she doesn't want to hurt him. She tells him that she loves him very much, and that she will never truly leave him.

Kinyume is born from her and Mwokozi's union, and Madi is forced to tell Nuka that the child is his. She then goes to Mwokozi and tells him, and then begs for him to keep Kinyume's parentage a secret. He promises to keep quiet, as long as he can still share a father-son bond with Kinyume.

She then encourages Nuka to start a harem, which will divert his focus onto other lionesses, not just her. He is hesitant, but agrees, and takes the lionesses Ingona and Mwezi as his mates. She births Kifaa, Nuka's daughter, and he is done with cubs from her. He now has Dhaifu, Mafuriko, Dhoruba and Kaidi from Mwezi, and Nikela and Lingana from Ingona.

When the cubs are adults, Nuka leads the Sentinels in a war against the Pridelands. Before the final onslaught though, Mwokozi comes to Madi in the night and asks her to join him in his plan to stop Nuka and beg him to reconsider. She joins him willingly, and discovers that some of Nuka's own children, and even his mate Mwezi are willing to join Mwokozi.

When the battle draws near, and Nuka is about to kill King Kopa, Mwokozi steps in, surrounded by his following, and asks Nuka to reconsider. He refuses and attacks Mwokozi, and the following is forced to battle with the Pridelanders against Nuka's loyalists.

After the battle has ended, Madi discovers that Mwokozi was forced to kill Nuka in order to stop him. She is content though; she is free to live beside Mwokozi, no longer in hiding, as his Queen.

When Kinyume comes of age, she and Mwokozi abdicate, free to spend their days together just as they always wanted.

Relation to TLK: Is one of Nuka's mates, but betrays him and has a cub with Nuka's best friend.
