Personality: Nyigu is very calm and quiet, but inside, he festers with rage and jealousy for his elder brother, Chanzo. He constantly makes up plans to usurp power from his brother, to no avail. Because of his hatred, he is prone to tantrums and gets angry very easily, but with Ayana by his side, he is able to calm down a little, being so in love with her. 

Bio:

Nyigu is second-born to Kaaroonet and Shani by a few minutes, leaving him just below Chanzo in ranking. As soon as he is old enough, he tries to make Chanzo look bad by bullying him into submission, or provoking him into fights. Of course, these are futile attempts, and Nyigu almost always ends up looking the fool.

Becuase of his hatred for his brother, he spends more time with Ukali and Mchanga, who scold him for his actions and defend Chanzo. But they're better company than Chanzo, so Nyigu puts up with them.

When Nyigu is a teen, he attacks Chanzo while the young lion is on a solo hunt, and leaves him, convinced he is dead. While he is reporting Chanzo's untimely death, the young lion returns and banishes Nyigu.

Nyigu spends the rest of adolescence in the wilds, until his mane is fully grown and he hears that Chanzo is now High Priest. A few days after, a group of lionesses find him and tell him that he is welcome back in the pride. Nyigu is overjoyed, but keeps his relief safely inside.

When news of the campaign for independance reaches the Northlands, Nyigu informs Chanzo. This would be a great opportunity for the Northlands! Chanzo agrees to go to the Pridelands to speak to the Emperor-King, and he returns as ruler of the Northlands.

A few days after, Nyigu suggests that he becomes King, while Chanzo stays as High Priest. Chanzo would have all the power, and Nyigu would handle all the political and non-religious affairs. Chanzo agrees, and Nyigu walks away from the conversation as King. It is around this time he is confronted by a pridesister, challenging him for the deal he made for his brother. He fights back, patronising her and insulting her, but is interrupted by Ayana, a pridesister who was born around the same time as him. He is astounded by Ayana's courage, and immediately begins to respect her, and in time, love her. The two become mates soon after happy to be together, despite their rough introduction.

When he is older, and Chanzo has newborn cubs, Nyigu recieves the devastating information that his older brother has been assassinated. With no time to dwell on tearful goodbyes, Nyigu ascends to the position of High Priest, while Ukali fills in as Regent. Of course, he abdicates when Unyasi, Chanzo's eldest cub, comes of age, and so does Ukali when Jiwe, his second-born, becomes Queen. Nyigu then departs the living world, safe in the knowledge that the kingdom will be successful under his nieces' powers.
