Keva grew up in the Outlands as a born killer, trained by his father, Panthera. His physical appearance was striking, being half Pridelander and half Outlander, he was a mix between the two, he had the size and shape of  a Pridelander, a black mane with golden streaks, and one green eye, one blue, he grew up always feeling like two different parts of him were at war. Part of him wanted to fight the Pridelanders, the other part knew it was wrong.  When he was a young cub, his home was burned and his mother killed in the flames, as he lay there, helplessly watching his mother burn to death he swore to get revenge on Simba, who was responsible for the fire.

"In this land I am torn, part of me wants to fight and repel the outsiders here, the other part of me is the outsider." -- Keva, referring to his mixed heritage.
