Personality: Ashiki is very laid-back and calm, and while some call him a coward for not wanting to get into any fights, he prides himself as being a very neutral figure in the concept of war and conflict.

Bio:

Second-born son of Ukweli and Dhara, Ashiki knew from the earliest days that he would never be Duke of his lands unless something drastic happened to Maliki. He also knew that pridesisters would see him as a bad omen, or refuse to interact with him, as of his mismatched eyes, an uncommon occurance in the Empire.

He begins to take an interest in polotics, and his father, when not grooming his brother into being a good leader, teaches him all about the affairs of the Empire and his own duty as Counsellor, serving under Empress-Queen Uru. Ashiki does not long to be Counsellor though, which eases Ukweli's burden.

When his mane is nearly full grown, his mother takes him aside one night and tells him to, "Run away and never return. If you do, I shall kill you myself. Your father has decreed that only the heir to the throne may stay in these lands - his siblings must be banished." Ashiki, at first, does not believe her. Ukweli would never say such a thing, but when Dhara threatens to kill him for a second time, he leaves, not sure if he wants to cause strife among his family.

He spends an awful lot of time wandering, as his mane is full grown by the time he reaches the Pridelands, and meets a lioness there, Sarafina. She is friendly, and Ashiki grows a special bond with her. She later asks him if he'll be her mate, and the father of her cubs, and he agrees. When his daughter is born, a healthy little girl whom he names Nala, he recieves a visit from a young male, the Prince Taka. He tells Ashiki that Sarafina was his for the taking, until he came and 'stole' her away. Ashiki denies this - Sarafina came to him willingly. But Taka can not be convinced, and the two engage in a bloody conflict.

It is during this fight that Ashiki barely manages to come away with his life, and leaves behind a scar on Taka's left eye. He retreats into the wilds, and wanders for the rest of his days. When he is an older lion, and he hears of Maliki's part in the campaign for independance amon the Empire, he rejoins the Eastlands and lives as an advisor by his brother's side.
