Heritage & History:

Yuma was the product of forced breeding between  Shenzi and (unnamed/unimportant) father.

He was born during the beginnings of Scar's rule. His mother, Shenzi, was the original leader of the hyena pack and was seen with the upmost respect. Under Scar, she was used for breeding and nothing else. Yuma and his brother were the first pups she bore. Yuma was born weak and tiny, due to possible inbreeding. Scar, wanting only the strongest for his army, was disapointed with child and ordered Shenzi to kill him, Shenzi fought back and through persuasion was allowed to keep Yuma as long as she kept him out of the way of Scar and the other pups (who Scar had already begun training). Shenzi's end of the agreement was to relinquish her title as alpha and to continue to breed, which she complied to. 

Note: Yuma has a number of half siblings that he shares his mother's blood with. But they don't really see themselves as a family, as they were born to fight and to kill. Many were soliders and many died fighting agasint other prides for territory. 

Yuma's seen often as the butt of the joke. He's rather smart for his age (not genuis so, but enough to understand how to hunt and to beable to reatin signifigant amounts of information), but ridiculously clumsy and nervous. When cornered with a situation he becomes so anxious, he's unable to be spoken to or moved. Yuma is also rather timid and has a hard time speaking coherently. His words are usuallly jumbled or he speaks too fast. 

Relations:

Yuma holds a small one-sided fling with another hyena of the pack. She goes by the name of Fable (character page is under decision). Fable is rather loud and not the brightest crayon in the box. Her heads usually in the clouds and she never holds attention for very long. She's also rather rude and completley forgets about Yuma the majority of the time. She is also a descendent of Ed. 

Yuma has no "real" friends. He does hold a strong realtionship with his mother though. 

Death:

Yuma died close to the end of Scar's reign. He was killed by his mother.

During this period, the hyenas had become restless with the little food and little water left in the Pridelands. They begun to riot and rise, some even teaming up with the few lions who outwardly agreed. In hopes of restoring order, Scar selected the weakest members of the Pride including both lions and hyenas. Despite their agreement, Yuma was selected. Scar then asked Shenzi to kill each of them in front of the pride. Though she was no longer under her title, the hyenas and even a number of the lioness looked to Shenzi with respect. By, doing this act, Scar hoped to show that even the respected were below him and would follow his orders. Shenzi, of course, is heartbroken by this turn of events. She kills the weakest others first and leaves Yuma for last. Yuma, seeing as how there's really no good end to this, begs his mother to just end it quickly and she does. 

The death of her son turns Shenzi cold. As when Scar falls from Priderock, she kills him easily with little to no remorse.
