Personality: Akili is a strong, determined leader. He sees the best in everyone and is very forgiving. Akili is very caring but is known to trust a little too much. He loves people and is a great public speaker. Despite his past, Akili easily lets things go and is not at all hateful.

History: Akili was the cub of Simba and Kula, an unwanted pairing. Simba had married Nala and they planned to have their first cub when the event occurred. Simba and Kula were alone together often and the chemistry between the two started it all. Although he was unplanned, Kula made sure her son was safe. Simba could never actually hurt his own flesh and blood, so he made sure no harm came to Akili. Sadly, Simba abandoned the cub for his family with Nala, who especially hated Akili.

As a cub, Akili’s life wasn’t easy. Many of the other cubs didn’t see him as the same. He was the cub that made the crack in Simba and Nala’s relationship. After a bit of time with their own family, however; Simba and Nala were back to their ‘forever in love’ selves. Akili was still seen as the unwanted child for many who loved Simba and Nala. Life was not easy for his mother, Kula, either. She was often left out while Akili was teased. Life was not easy for the two, but they had each other. Akili loved his mother very much, and promised her a better life one day.

When Akili grew into a young teen, the bullying and hatred for him seemed to get worse. He was forgotten in the pride, and almost always alone. Akili knew he had no life in the Pride Lands. He barely communicated with anyone from his family, except for his mother. He was forbidden to see Simba, Nala, or Kiara. Akili decided that there was only one way for him to be happy, and that was to leave the Pride Lands. He dreamed of him and his mother running away and creating their own pride from those who were lost.

Akili was a young adult, when Kula grew ill. She later died in her sleep one night, and Akili found her in the morning. The death crushed him. He was depressed for a long time and this was his chance. Akili had nothing keeping him in the Pride Lands and he wanted to keep his promise to his mother. Akili ran away, not looking back once. He wandered around for a while, just living off the land. The loneliness was not a stranger to him and he was able to take care of himself. After two months, Akili ran into a young, beautiful lioness. Her name was Kinaya and she was actually running away too. Kinaya’s parents were rogues and she was taught to be one but Kinaya grew tired of her life there so she went looking for something new. Akili fell head over heels for Kinaya almost immediately. They decided to travel together. When Akili confessed his idea of a new, better pride, Kinaya was completely on board. This surprised Akili at first but he could never say no to Kinaya.

Akili and Kinaya found a nice area, with lots of space, water, and other animals. It started off as just them, and then they found others. Some had nowhere to go after their prides had been destroyed, there was no food left, or they simply were runaways as well. Akili didn’t want to turn them away. He was known as the Forgiving King because he didn’t care about other’s pasts. He only wanted to make a home for them. The pride quickly grew and Akili became the king he always wanted to be. He managed to get enough courage to ask Kinaya to be his queen and she said yes. Together, the two had four cubs. Akili’s life seemed perfect.
