Name: Kamaji (meaning 'the golden one')
Mate: Adla
Cubs: Obi, Aida, Takata, Kinaya and Tale
Pride of Origin: Bahari
Personality: Kamaji is a good lion, wise and honorable to a fault. He is, however, quite quiet and almost shy but that is only to those he doesn't know. He is very devoted to both his pride and his family, wanting nothing more than to see them both sfae and happy. Sometimes his method of ruling can be heavy-handed but he means well. He doesn't trust the Jabali Pride and although he wants peace with the neighbouring pride, he hasn't forgotten what they did to both his father and his pride.
History: Kamaji was concieved very shortly before his father's death and the exile of his pride from his homeland by the Jabali Pride. As such, Kamaji was born in the Pridelands where his mother sought refuge with his uncle, Mufasa.
Kamaji didn't know his cousin Simba all that well, being only a very young cub, and didn't remember much of the time before Mufasa and Simba's tragic 'deaths'. In fact, most of his cubhood was spent under Scar's rule. However, his elder siblings often told him stories of before. It wasn't long after Scar took the throne that he exiled Kamaji's now teenage brother Tojo when he became paranoid that both he and Chumvi posed a possible threat to his rule.
When it became clear that Scar was completely mad and without hope, Neema took a teenage Kamaji and what members of the Bahari Pride were willing to go with her, and planned to retake their lands from the Jabali. In the end, Simba's return coincided with the day that they planned to leave the Pridelands. Kamaji was kept away from the fighting by his mother and elder sister.
Eventually, as a young adult, Kamaji did lead his people back to their lands and took it back from the Jabali after a single bloody battle. He then took a lioness named Adla as his mate and soon had a son of his own, Obi, as his heir.
However, not all was as happy as Kamaji believed. Secretly, his aunt Naanda, was plotting against him and intending to put her eldest son Ainran on the throne. She attacked a then pregnant Adla and almost killed her if Kamaji had not intervened and killed her instead. Kamaji then exiled Naanda's sons, Ainran and Onani, as they may pose a threat in the future even though he knew they had no part in Naanda's murderous rage.
Things took a turn for the worse again when Obi broke off his betrothal to a lioness named Hiari from the Kilima Pride to chase after the Princess of the Jabali Pride, Tendai. Afraid of Malka's wrath, Kamaji sent his only other cub, Aida, to the Kilima Pride as a replacement to be betrothed to Malka's son, Salehe.
When Obi finally returned to the pride, Kamaji was furious with his son and now he had yet another problem on his hands.
After Aida's departure, thinking Obi would never return, Kamaji and Adla tried again for cubs and three healthy cubs were born: Takata, Kinaya and Tale. Kamaji had named the eldest cub, Takata, his new heir before Obi's return and now he was faced with a choice. Should he reinstate his eldest son as heir, despite all the trouble he had caused, or keep Takata as his heir and work from the beginning again?
His decision was suddenly put in hold by the return of Aida to the Bahari Pride (followed by her betrothed, Salehe) bringing dire news. Princess Hiari had been kidnapped and the Nyasi Pride had been plunged into civil war as a result.
