History: Kaya was born when Kiara and Kovu took the throne. Chaka is her fraternal twin brother, meaning they are twins but don’t look the same and aren’t the same gender. Although Chaka and Kaya are very different, they are always together and got along fairly well. Kaya was the more adventurous out of the two, however; while Chaka was the one who kept a close eye on her.
As a cub, Kaya was very close to her father, Kovu. She was more of the ‘Daddy’s Little Girl’ type. She was always waiting for a chance for it to be just her and Kovu. She just loved to impress him. Kiara and Kaya did not have that special connection but their relationship was good. Kiara was the one who taught Kaya to hunt, and would tell her stories. Kaya was always off playing pranks on others, which often got into trouble. She tried her best to find a loophole in every rule, but that didn’t always work out the way she wanted. Kaya often dragged her brother along too, and believed that Chaka was just a stick in the mud when it comes to having fun. Still, you could rarely ever find the two cubs apart when they were young.
One day, Kaya and Chaka were out playing in the fields. When Kiara and Kovu were distracted, Kaya knew it was a chance to get away. She grabbed her brother and forced him along. She dragged Chaka off with her along a strange unknown path. Chaka protested but Kaya wouldn’t just let him leave. She challenged him to a game, unaware that they were so close to the Pride Land borders. While in the middle of play wrestling, they heard something strange. A loud evil laugh started, soon joined by others, and five hyenas popped out. The hyenas at the time believed that it was safe for them to return to the Pride Lands, after Simba was not king anymore, to scavenge for food. Kaya did her best to be the brave lioness she wanted to be but she couldn’t exactly pull it off yet. The two cubs were attacked. Luckily, Kovu was nearby and heard the hyenas. He raced to the scene and quickly scared the hyenas off. While Kaya and Chaka were in trouble for wandering out so far, they were quickly forgiven by their parents.
Into her preteen years, Kaya began to suffer horrible nightmares after she learned the story of Scar from her mother. She was deathly afraid that Scar was watching over her, getting ready to take her just like he once took Kovu. Kaya never wanted to be evil. She was a little mischievous but never evil. Good thing that her brother and her best friends, Kivuli and Nadia, to comfort her.
Kaya grew into a young teenage lioness. Her brother had met a lioness named Hadiya and the two started spending more and more time together. Kaya was a bit jealous that Hadiya was getting all of Chaka’s attention now but soon noticed the big crush Chaka must have had on Hadiya. Kaya went on with her life. Unlike her brother, Kaya did not desperately want to be the next ruler. She wanted something exciting and new to happen. She believed that if she was queen, she would not be able to go off on adventures any longer and that just seemed boring to her. Still, Kaya should great bravery and leadership skills. Soon, Kaya met a young male named Aasagi. He was strange and she had never seen him before but he was from the Pride Lands. They met by the river and had a quick conversation, but the next day the met again. It came to the point where Kaya really enjoyed talking with Aasagi and often went looking for him. The two had a great friendship. Then, one day Kaya was upset over her brother nagging her so Aasagi decided to take her somewhere to cheer her up. He had this hideout in the jungle, which is why he never really socialized with other cubs when he was young. Kaya followed Aasagi to the jungle and was amazed by its beauty. Aasagi and Kaya played together all day, just having fun. She didn’t have to worry about expectations of a princess or her brother. She found out that Aasagi and her had a lot in common. She decided to runaway with Aasagi and together they would live in that jungle. Kaya was completely unaware that she had put her family in distress. Her father and brother desperately searched for her. Chaka even put his training on hold, in fear that his sister was in trouble. Kaya enjoyed every moment with Aasagi, and soon fell for him.
Then, one night, Kaya and Aasagi were out on a walk when they were attacked. A large group of starving hyenas recognized Kaya as the princess and decided to try to get some revenge. The two fought off the group of hyenas but, because it was late and they were tired, the two did not escape without any injuries. Kaya suddenly found herself homesick. The hyena attack only made her remember the memories of her and her brother. She convinced Aasagi to return to the Pride Lands with her. The two walked home, and were greeted by everyone. Chaka seemed the most happy.
Kaya and Aasagi were treated for their injuries. Chaka returned the kingdom back to peace, and Kaya was happy back at home. Kaya and Aasagi were even more in love and, after a little convincing of Chaka, the two became mates. Chaka took the throne, while Kaya decided to go for a simpler lifestyle. Still, she promised to help her brother with any decision he makes. Chaka’s queen became Hadiya and they all returned to their normal lives in the Pride Lands.
