History: Raha‘s parents met as teens and fell in love, but their love was forbidden by his maternal grandfather, so as young adults they ran away and became rouges. Surviving on their own was tough but they managed and when they found out they were expecting cubs they were ecstatic, but they knew they couldn’t raise cubs and remain rouges, so they started looking for a suitable pride they could join. One day, they entered a fairly barren land with very little prey, on their way to another land and suddenly a large cackle (group) of hyenas appeared, wild, hungry and desperate, and they saw two lone lions as a chance for a free meal so they attacked, Raha‘s mother managed to get away while his father perished trying to buy her time to get away.

Raha‘s mother stumbled upon a small pride of sorts, the king and queen of the land allowed any lionesses come and go as they please but do not allow any males older than a young teen access, so many females without mates came and stayed with the pride temporarily until their cubs were old enough to travel and a few stayed for longer some even stayed permanently. His mother joined this pride, knowing it would be a good and safe place to raise her cubs, and eventually decided to stay there permanently. Soon after, Raha and his older sister, Ayo, were born; Ayo was sickly at birth and for most of her cub-hood. Raha made sure he always gave her special attention and made time for her, as she could barely leave the cave and couldn’t play with the other cubs. As she became an older cub though, she started to become stronger and able to play normally, but they still remained close as she made new friends. Raha‘s best friend was Khiari, the son of the king and queen.

Raha and Khiari remained best friends into young adulthood, when they decided to leave their birthplace to explore the surrounding world, Khiari’s parents told them they could return whenever they like. Raha‘s mother and sister were sad to see him go, but wished him well, he offered for his sister to come as well, but she said she wanted to remain home for at least a while. Raha told her he would send news if he found a long-term place to stay. One day, they entered a territory they heard was a lion named Tojo and his pride’s, and were confronted by a lioness, and after Khiari talking with her, Khiari and Raha followed her, Tegan, as he soon found out, back to her pride. There, they asked to join the pride, at least temporarily, and Tojo accepted. Soon, it was almost obvious to Raha that Khiari had fallen for Tegan, and had decided to stay in Tojo’s pride to be with her. But Raha had no wish to stay, but had nowhere to go so became a semi-rouge, wandering for up to a day or two at a time.

That’s when Raha stumbled into a rouge lioness, named Nyota, and he asked her why she was wandering through this territory, and she said she felt like she didn’t belong anywhere, and he agreed, the only place he had felt belonging was in his birth pride with his mom and sister. He told Nyota of this pride and she was very interested, but Raha didn’t want to leave right away, he had to say goodbye to Khiari so Nyota decided to stay in the territory for a while, then, after he had said his goodbyes, they left for his birth-pride, and on the way they soon grew close, and became mates. When they arrived, his family welcomed him and Nyota with joy, happy to have him back, and even happier he had found his mate. He told Khiari’s parents of Khiari and Tegan, and they were happy that their son had also found a mate, yet a bit sad that he was not coming home. They offered to make Raha the heir, as someone would need to take over the territory someday, and Raha was a good lion and so a good choice, Raha gladly accepted, he knew that this is what Khiari would want.
