Personality
Personality: Laid-back, quiet, and calm. Asili doesn’t like fighting and prefers being alone to a pride, hating being around loud, boisterous lions. As his name suggests, Asili is very in-tune with nature and other species of animals, despite being distinctly bad with other lions. He has a uniquely sharp sense of observation, and could be a great strategist, resulting in an instinctual killer and hunter – some claimed at times that Asili couldn’t use those things to his advantage. He always tells them he simply chooses not to. Asili prefers a lazy life-style in which no stress is put on him. He doesn’t like hunting large game, opting for bugs instead. He also has a very, very deep center: One that lingers from when he was raised to believe the lionesses outside Zira’s pride were evil, accentuated by his time with the Boys. Once this is opened, he is disrespectful at best with lionesses, and extremely aggressive. It takes triggers for him, but it is there – most specifically, if a lioness portrays herself more as simply flirty then anything. Should she do that, he will play along until he has the chance to take advantage of her. Usually, though, it isn’t a problem for a careful lioness.
Likes: Being on his own, bugs, sleeping, a low-stress environment
Dislikes: Zira, being around other lions
Fears: None, specifically
Traits
Goals: None
Strengths: Very intuitive, deductive reasoning, observation
Weaknesses: NO work ethic, very lazy, the tendency toward aggression
History
After Scar’s death, Zira wanted revenge. However, there were no viable males in her pride. She did what any lioness would – when she went into heat, she went out in search of a suitable mate. She found Tanglemane.
There was no concern for the affair; Zira simply wanted a cub. And he gave her one – one she named Kuua once he was born. Kuua, meaning ‘kill’. He was raised from the minute he was born to hate pridelanders, and soon began associating “pridelander lionesses” with “all lionesses.” He was trained hard to be a murderer, but didn’t enjoy the stress. He hated it, actually, and as his mane started growing in, he left. Of course, Zira had seen it coming and had already mated with Chumvi, resulting in a new-born Kovu, but she certainly wasn’t pleased.
But all the same, Kuua was gone.
He soon met up with Tabuu, who invited him to join his coalition. Kuua felt that he had no reason to decline, so he immediately accepted. He enjoyed his time there for awhile – due to his name meaning ‘kill’ already, they didn’t need him to change his name. He participated in all their rituals and customs, including the… wooing of lionesses. Of course, at first he seemed uninterested, but eventually started to believe that the flirtier ones would need to get what they had coming. This was how he functioned in his mind: if they made a choice, they’d have to stick to it. He led them off and took advantage of them, and was gone before the lioness could even get back to her pride.
But, after awhile, he got bored there and began to dislike how loud and obnoxious the Boys were. So, again, he left.
This time, he found a jungle, and a nearby pride that lived there. Of course, they seemed quite happy and nice, but he didn’t join – something felt vaguely off about them. When they asked him his name, he lied: He remembered how the boys changed their names, so he did the same. In that moment, Kuua became Asili. He went on to reside in the jungle, happily. No stress, no anxiety. No responsibilities.
