Personality: Ryker is a very powerful lion, and he knows it. He isn't afraid to take on anybody who dares even look at him funny. He is quite the charmer, and can get his way with the lionesses easily. He speaks with a sarcastic charm, and they adore that. His looks also help him dearly. Using his charms, smarts, and even clever sense of humor. He is really goofy and playful once you get to know him, for he never had a cubhood. He unfortunately is also very stubborn.  

History:

Ryker was born to a mother who had no freedom.

His mother was bethroyed to a male, a king of a pride. She didn't love the male, and wanted nothing more then to leave him. But her family, as a cub, made her be with this male. Even though he was a lot older then her, and somewhat of a creep.

Any chance she had, she always tried to leave, but when the king found out, he punished her severly. He was determined to have her for himself.

One day, the evil king took advantage of the poor lioness, and shortly after -- she found out she was expecting a cub. She was disgusted with the fact that she was bringing a child of the king, a child to that pathetic scum. She wanted nothing more then to get rid of the child the first chance she had.

But the moment Ryker was born, she instantly fell in love. She didn't want to get rid of it, but she knew deep down that this would be the best interest for her son.

A few short days after Ryker was born, his mother, the queen sent out a messenger to the neighboring pride -- she wanted to speak to the head huntress.

Little was it known, but it was in the middle of Scar's Reign of the pridelands, and at the time, the head huntress was Zira.

Zira had come over the previous day of the message to talk to the queen of the neighboring pride.

The queen had explained that she felt that it was for the best interest if she left the cub in the hands of another, that the king was a terrible king, and would be a bad influence on her son.

Zira insisted that she took the child out of the poor queens hands. That she'd raise the cub with a nice, healthy pride.

Ryker's mother was filled with bitter-sweet. She loved that her baby boy was going to be in a better home, but she hated departing with the one and only thing that mattered to her in this world.

Zira happily took the cub back to the pridelands to be with her and Scar. This was all shortly after Nuka was born, and the scrawny cub she called her son would not due for the heir of the throne. But Ryker, oh Ryker was perfect.

The moment Scar laid eyes on Ryker, he made Zira promise that she'll train him to be a killer - and a sinister lion like he was. He wanted one thing, and one thing alone from Ryker -- and that was to have Ryker be his personal assassin.

From cubhood-on, Zira raised Ryker like he was her own cub. She taught him everything she knew about hunting, about stalking prey, and about leading. Ryker was a quick learner, and he honestly loved taking down defensless animals -- I guess he got that from his dad. He never thought anything of his ways.

Ryker was adored by Scar and Zira, but hated by everyone else. The pridelanders, and even the hyenas hated Ryker. He was a cold-blooded killer, even as just a teenager. He was too cocky, and very arrogant. He mistreated the lionesses of the pride, and he just thought he could have his way whenever he felt he should.

But in reality, Scar stayed true to his word, and he used Ryker to be his assassin. Whenever Scar had a bone to pick with someone, he ordered his adopted teenage son to take on the duty to kill off his enemies. Ryker was so stealth-like, that there was never any proof, so a trial was never necessary.

Growing up, Nuka despised his "brother". He hated every thing about him, Nuka knew deep down that this... evil cub, was not his brother -- that it made no sense. If they were born so close to eachother, they must have had very similar traits, they should have been almost identical. But Ryker and Nuka are nothing a like in statue. Nuka knew something was fishy, so he despised Ryker.

Ryker didn't mind, he hated his 'brother' too. Nuka was too weak in his eyes, and a pathetic excuse for a lion. He understood why Scar didn't want Nuka to be the heir.

Many months later, when Ryker and Nuka grew to be adults, it was obvious there was a huge food shortage. Scar asked Ryker what was to be done about it, and of course Ryker just blamed the pridelander lionesses.

Days and days dragged on the same, Ryker was growing hungry, and bitter. He was tired of never any food - or any prey to even hunt. He was growing antsy, even Scar himself was growing bored. No enemies, they either all relocated, or passed on.

But one faithful night changed that all...

It was dusk one night, and Scar had summonded Zira and Ryker along with the pesky Nuka to go and try to search for food - For Sarabi's hunting party was not doing right by Scar's standards. Zira and Ryker along with Nuka did exactly that.

They all went and tried their hardest to find any signs of a herd. There was none, and Ryker knew that. He also believed deep down that Zira and Nuka knew that as well -- but they didn't want to disappoint Scar. But Ryker knew the truth, he knew Scar was an evil dictator, and he drove many people away.. But who was he to disapprove of his "father".

It wasn't until they smelt the smell of smoke, that they realized that something terrible was happening at Pride Rock...

Upon arriving to pride-rock, it was made clear what happened -- "King" Simba had returned to take his "rightful" place. He had killed Scar and taken back Pride Rock.. or so Zira had explained.

Ryker, however wasn't that stupid. It was pretty obvious what really went down. It was mutany against Scar -- the pridelander lionesses teamed up with "Simba". Ryker wasn't deaf, he heard stories countlessly about Simba. He knew very well who he was. He was Scar's nephew.. The lionesses most have grown tired of the dictators ways, and they figured that Mufasa's son would do the job of restoring the pridelands -- so they did what they thought they had to.

Also, upon examing the decaying body of Scar, it was simply seen that Scar was tore limb to limb by hyenas, not a single lion, no. But by hyenas.

Ryker didn't know what to think, his "mother" Zira was hysterical. She vowed her vengance on Simba and the rest of the pride, saying that the rightful king will take his place! But Ryker figured she might have gone mad..

Apparently, at the end of Scar's Reign, Zira was pregnant.. She was growing bigger and bigger by the weak, and she declared that she was expecting two.

After the two cubs were born, Zira explained that Kovu, the male of the two cubs, would be the heir to the throne. The "rightful king". The "chosen one" by Scar.

This angered Ryker.. he was supposed to be the king!

Ryker trained his entire life to be the king, he slayed countless lions just to win over his dads heart. He became a cold-blooded killer for the simple reason to be a king like his father.

Ryker argued with Zira after she kept persisting Kovu be the king and the chosen one. It was then when Zira told Ryker the truth about his past;

That Ryker was born of a lioness from a different pride -- a lioness that gave him up to have a better life within a safer pride. To have a loving home with Zira and Scar.

That Zira was not really Ryker's mother, but she adopted him. She wanted him for nothing more then to be the heir. Because he was a strong, sturdy looking male.

But now, now she believed Scar's true son should be the heir.

"Not some orphan!"

Ryker had - had enough. He was done. He was taught his entire life how to be a killer -- because he thought he'd win his fathers approval. That he'd do something great for a family -- he didn't think anything of it at the time, because to him, it was normal.

He became nictorious and wanted by other prides for all the slaying he did FOR SCAR!

He felt so foolish for not seeing it before -- for not seeing how blind he's really been.

He hated himself, and he hated his pride!

He wanted nothing more to do with Zira, to do with the pridelands. In fact, he hated ANYTHING to do with it.

He made a personal vow that very moment.. that he'd do anything in his power to see vengeance!

Zira.. was going to die.

Many months, had passed and now Ryker was a mature adult, blackness within his soul was slowly fading -- all except towards Zira and the pridelands/outlanders! He had been spying on both parties occasionally. It was obvious that Kovu had been trained the same way Ryker himself was trained -- and it was also obvious that Kiara was the same foolish child she always had been.

He watched as the love devolped between Kovu and Kiara, and honestly, it made him overjoyed. He loved seeing Zira's plan backfire..

And it did.. in the end.. it did.

Although Ryker was a bit upset with that fact that he, himself, wasn't the one to take down Zira, he was glad she was out of this life.. She was were she deserved to be.. Rotting in the bottom of a canyon!

It was now time for Ryker to do what he trained his whole life to do -- what his 'mother' and 'father' failed to do over and over again.

After Zira's death he laid low, keeping close watch on the new Pridelands.

He saw that Simba had taken in the Outlanders, merging with them to form a bigger pride. A larger hunting party to protect the king may make things harder for Ryker, but he knew it wasn't impossible.

Simba's next heir, his son Kopa, was growing of age to be the king. And news of an engagement was spreading through the lands.

Ryker figured that would be his chance, get to the new king through his bride..

But when Ryker found out who the new queen was to be, he was floored..

Vitani, his 'baby sister' was engaged to the prince! Even his own sister, Zira's main supporter, betrayed everything her and Kovu trained for.

Ryker hadn't seen Vitani and Kovu since they were cubs, but yet he still felt betrayed that the foolish cubs would BOTH fall in love with the royalty of the Pridelands.

This gave Ryker all the more reason to take down the Pridelands. And he would do it in a way that would give him the sweetest vengeance.. He would do it through Vitani..

Zira's baby girl will ensure Ryker the throne after all.. And this time, Ryker will be sure of it.
