Personality: Chaka is very mature and responsible. He hates procrastination and loves being king. He looks up to his father, but goes to his mother for advice on anything. Chaka is very determined and caring, taking on a lot of responsibilities for his pride. Chaka enjoys working hard and would do anything for his pride. His leadership skills are excellent, causing him to be called Chaka The Great. Chaka is also very close with his sister, despite their differences, and often looks after her.

History: Chaka was born after Kiara and Kovu took the throne. He has a fraternal twin sister named Kaya, meaning they are twins but do not look alike. Kiara and Kovu were very proud of their two cubs. Although Chaka was the only son, Kiara and Kovu decided to not choose Chaka as the future king. They wanted to give their daughter a chance as well and understood that the gender did not matter, but instead their personalities were more important.

Chaka and Kaya were close from birth. They always played together, despite their differences. Chaka was more of the shy cub, who did not like to cause any trouble. Kaya was more energetic and wild. She always wanted to have fun and play pranks. Chaka soon became more of a babysitter for Kaya, making sure she did not get into any trouble. Still, Chaka and his sister were best friends. One day, Chaka and Kaya were out playing when their parents were oddly distracted. Kaya took it as an opportunity to escape and explore the Pride Lands. Chaka, of course, had to follow her. He did his best to encourage her to turn back but Kaya was too headstrong at that age to listen. She continued to explore until she reached the borders of the Pride Lands. Chaka attempted to drag her back to the Pride Lands and Kaya only teased him for being a wimp. The two broke out into a play fight, and wrestled with each other. They did not cross the border, but were spotted by others across the border. Kaya triumphantly pinned her brother down, but they were interrupted by a strange, horrific laughing. The two cubs jumped at the sight of five hyenas. Chaka and Kaya both did their best to act brave but they couldn’t hide the way their bodies had a slight tremble to them. Luckily, Kovu came just in time to safe them both and chase the hyenas away, that believed they could get away with returning to the Pride Lands after Simba retired. Both cubs got into trouble for going far enough away that Kovu or Kiara could not keep an eye on them, but were quickly forgiven.

As a cub, Chaka already wanted to begin his training to become king. Just like they promised, Kiara and Kovu trained both of their cubs even though Kaya was more easily distracted. While she did love the Pride Lands, Chaka was always the one more focused and always listened to his parents. However, when they were not training, Chaka and Kaya would often go out and play. The two twins were always together, but they had other friends in their pride as well. One of Kaya’s good friends was Kivuli, a friendly male cub. He would often tag along with Chaka and Kaya on their adventures. There was also, Nadia, a female cub the same age as Chaka and Kaya. Another cub was added to their group however, when their grandfather, Simba, found a female cub named Hadiya. She had run away from home, which was the pride just over the mountains, but told Simba she had no home due to an accident. Simba took her to the Pride Lands, where she was introduced to the other cubs. Hadiya was going to be raised by all the females in the pride, not being fully adopted by just one, and, surprisingly, Chaka and Hadiya instantly became good friends. Chaka loved showing Hadiya around the Pride Lands and the two could talk for hours.

As time went on, Chaka grew quickly into a young adult. He was doing his best to become king in the end, and believed he was completely ready. Chaka’s friendship with Hadiya slowly grew into something more and he began to really appreciate her beauty. They began to spend more time with each other, and Kaya was, sadly, left alone. Chaka had forgotten that even though Kaya was now a young adult herself, she had not changed as much over the years and still gets into trouble. Kaya ended up befriending a lion named Aasagi, who is completely unknown to Chaka. Aasagi and Kaya would often disappear, leaving the Pride Lands, which upset Chaka once he found out because he believed it was too dangerous for Kaya. Chaka did not like Kaya, but only made the situation worse by treating her like a young cub and not letting her see Aasagi. Out of rebellion, Kaya ran away from the Pride Lands to stay with Aasagi in the jungle.

With the disappearance of Kaya, Chaka was in complete distress. He stopped his training to become king, even though Kiara and Kovu were just planning to chose him, and looked for Kaya. Kovu did the same but they had no clue where Kaya had gone. Rumors soon began to spread about Kaya’s disappearance. Some believe Aasagi had kidnapped her, but Aasagi’s mother did her best to reassure them that Aasagi was a rebel but he wouldn’t hurt anyone. Kiara believed her, in the end, and so did Chaka. There was another rumor that she had simply died out in the middle of nowhere with Aasagi, and that made Chaka very nervous. He couldn’t think about anything but Kaya. Hadiya tried to get Chaka back on track, so he could continue his training to become king, but it did not work. Chaka just wanted to know that his sister was safe.

It seemed to be an eternity until; finally, Chaka’s wish came true. Kaya and Aasagi returned, side by side, to the Pride Lands. Both were badly injured. Chaka raced to help his sister but Kaya seemed more worried about Chaka than herself. She claimed the nearby pride, over the mountains, was causing chaos due to their new king’s rules. He was planning on attacking the Pride Lands next, and to rule over it. It was then when Haditya confessed she was a run away from there, because of her father, and she knew her pride very well. Kaya and Aasagi were treated and were soon back on their feet. Chaka and Kovu organized a small strong army to go into the pride and help with the chaos. This pride’s lands were completely filled with riots. The small organized army went into to restore peace, but the crazy old king did not like this. Still, the others of the pride decided they were sick of the fighting and joined with Chaka. Together, the new large and powerful group overthrew the old crazy king. A familiar face, to Hadiya rose to take the throne. Chaka was able to meet Hadiya’s old friend, and the two created an alliance between the prides.

When Chaka and the others returned to the Pride Lands, it was clear that Chaka was ready to become king. Kiara and Kovu stepped down as king and queen, leaving room for their son. Kaya was not upset at all, she wanted a much simpler life, but became Chaka’s most trusted advisor. Chaka chose Hadiya to be his mate and queen, and she happily accepted. Aasagi and Chaka spent more time together, and Chaka learned he was not a bad guy after all. Kaya and Aasagi fell in love, and Chaka allowed his sister to become her own person. Chaka always kept great peace within his kingdom and had a son, name Matu, who would later take the throne.
